POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

thanks for posting, jcarwash, I missed that post....glad to hear they are almost finished at POP.

Will be there next weekend the 13th- 20th asked for building 1. Hope it is refurbed.

Building 1 is refurbished.

I think we can declare the refurb work complete. On another thread baileybelle had a refurbed building 2 room and followed up to say all the outside doors in building 2 were updated, which should mean everything is done now.

This is great news. We are heading down on Thurs for 11 nights and we love to stay in building 2, 4rth floor. It is my standard request. Sooooo glad the refurb is done in time for our arrival!

Does anyone know if Bldg. 2 has now been finished?

I have requested the 1950s for my trip next Friday and am hoping for a refurbed room.Thanks.:)

Yes... it is finished. We stayed in building 2 from Nov. 11 to 22 and there was no construction work going on at Pop (except across the lake). The re-furb, from what I could see, is completely finished.

Got back the 28th......we were in 5157 [EXACTLY where I had requested!] and it was great! We have stayed at Pop before and the refurb was a much needed change!

Mousekeeping did a fantastic job for us.....animal characters every night and the room was always spotless!

Just one question/gripe....when and why did they take out the frozen coke machine?

sorry, I don't have the building thing down yet. This will be our first trip to Pop, and I just upgraded to a preferred. Our most important thing is walking distance to food court as I have problems with my feet. What years was your room in, floor and availability to food court? Did you face a pool or the lake. Any suggestions on what I should request? We arrive 1/18/11 so the kids should be in school and maybe a little quieter (I hope), so I'm not to worried about which floor. Thanks

Thanks!:)

Pop is so much fun!I can't wait until Art of Animation opens-that is going to enhance the "Pop experience" even more.:)(the view across the lake will no longer be an eyesore:))

We LOVED our 4159! Nonpreferred, ground floor, lake side, right around the corner from hippy dippy pool. Super close to everything. Beautifully refurbished and spotless! I know people say POP rooms are little, but with the sleek new design you get lots of areas for your stuff - big open space beside entertainment center and good sized open closet area. Lots of hanging knobs (super handy) and the divider curtain was fantastic. A bit noisy -those walls are SUPER thin.

Thanks!:)

When we checked in at the Pop on Friday (last Friday the 26th) we asked about the refurb and the woman who seemed quite knowledgable said it was all completed. She seemed really relieved that all the inconvenience of the work was over and the whole resort was ready for occupancy. We stayed in the 80's, which had been done earlier, we were on the 4th floor. I like the 4th floor. But still... that resort has paper thin walls. I had trouble sleeping in, in the morning because I could hear people walking by on the walkways, even on other floors. I could hear people walking in the courtyard, even from the 4th floor. But it was clean and the food court food was yummy! Can't beat it. :cloud9:

im thinking about straying from the pop century for 2012, if i do end up going to disney again, straying towards my dream resort, where ive wanted to stay since i was a kid

On our last trip, last month, we toured Bay Lake Tower! WOW ... THAT is the place to stay! I'm not really a Jetson's kind of person, more of a Turn of The Century Charm, which is why I love Saratoga, but BLT has such fantastic villas! I've GOT to stay there at least once!:goodvibes

POP!,its where the kid in us all live:cool1:, of course There is better resorts, more elegant, more creature compherts. I my self always debate about going to POR or return to POP, but everytime i try POP always drws me backi. You should try others for the no other reason then to show whaat other WDW resorts have to offer, but for myself Its POP!! because Its where Disneys spirt lives.
Sorry, i did not want to make you feel guilty, or change your mind but just was thinking what i thought of when i consder changing resorts:goodvibes

I'm not thrilled with the pools at Pop. I like the zero entry feature pool at Saratoga, but... Pop has the BEST food court!! Even if I stay elsewhere, I'll go to the food court at Pop to get my fish sandwich! YUM!! The selection is great and nobody has a better drink refill station! Pop wins there hands down! They also win for kid appeal. My 3rd grader LOVES it!

well i know me and my sis will ahve to go to the pop, if nothing else to get some tie-dye cheescake!! she made me bring her back some this past septmeber when i went wit my cousin..lol

When It comes to the pools, where not a big pool Family:confused3 I guess?, wich is kind of funny, i always make time for the pools but where always to busy or to tired for the pools:rotfl2:. This year(like every year) will be the yrear we diffnetly make time for the pool. My DS Is older now, still not crazy about the pools, but diffently would like more down time from the parks. Maybe this will be my chance to convence him to go swimming,or at the very least come down to the pool with his lab top and hummer me while I spend some quality time in the water.:rotfl2:

when me and my sis went in 2009. for whatever reason, though we were dead tired, we didnt sleep much.. so we were up at 4am and went to use the pools..its nice and quiet then, very good for relaxing..

basically our day would go like this:

5:00am-wake up and get ready for the day
6:30am get on the bus to whatever park we decided on for the day.
7am-9am(or 8am depending): arrive at chosen park, wait in line, watch the cute little pre opening shows they have, we loved them! i think holllywood studios was our fav
9am- noon or later- park time,
noon(or later)- we take a cool down break and go to one of the water parks to rest up in the lazy river for a few hours
3pmish- go back to same park or change parks
8-ish settle down for whichever fireworks we wanted to see that night
10ish- go to downtown disney for a bit
11ish- roll back into bed...
3am or 4 am- wake up and take a nice relaxing quiet swim in the Pop pools..
5am wake up and do it all over again

thats what we did for 9 days.. but it was soooo much fun and well worth losing sleep over.. and i cant wait till 2012 when we go again!
