Disney Gift Card Website Down?

Hi Disfriends!

DH and I have a trip coming up soon, and I am a person that always buys online Disney gift cards at Target for 5% off and I consolidate them using the www.disneygiftcard.com website. I have discovered today that this website is not working. I've tried to log in all morning. I've used both Safari and Chrome browsers and I've shut my computer down and rebooted and still no luck. I'm wondering if anyone else has discovered this or knows anything about this? I'm going to totally have to rethink my Disney gift card game if I can't use this website to consolidate my gift cards and load money onto empty gift cards.

If the website is down or not functioning anymore, does anyone know of a workaround? Another way to consolidate gift cards?

TIA for any advice or experiences!

Hi all! This is so weird. It's 1:15 EST and I cannot. get. in. I've tried Safari, Chrome, and my iPhone. I get the same message every time.

We're sorry, the account system is having a problem.

We'll be up and running before long, so please try again soon. Thanks for your patience, and please feel free to continue browsing in the meantime.

I've called the Disney Gift Card number and I was told they can't help me. They gave me an email address to try.

EDIT:
This is actually becoming funny. :-) I've had both my kids try on their computers and phones with no luck. The Disney Gift Card phone number gave me an email. I emailed and got an auto response indicating that I'll get a response back in 5 days. I leave for Disney in less than five days. So, I engaged with the Disney online chat and they told me to call the Gift Card Services back and ask for a supervisor. I did that, and they said there is no supervisor available.

I'll try again this evening. I need to totally rethink my strategy if I can't get on the consolidation website...unless there is another way? I've done this many times and I've never had a problem. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the website?

Try opening a private website and then go to http://disneygiftcard.com/

As far as I know that website and the phone are the only ways to consolidate.

I just went to this site on my iPad and checked the balance on my card. No issues.

You might want to clear your cookies/history if it still gives you a problem, or try opening an incognito browsing window.

The website just worked for me as well. If your cards aren't saved on the website and you can access someone else's disney account (like a spouse or whatever) try using their login to consolidate the cards.

I'm having a vague memory of folks with gmail addresses having issues sometime back, idk if that's applicable to you.

@Little E please follow this advice.

Everyone else seems to get in.

If that doesn't work you said you have an iPhone can you try it while not connected to your wifi and just using your cell phone data?

Thanks all! I have tried:
-a private website
-using iPhone not connected to wifi
-cleared my history
-cleared my cookies
-I do not have a gmail account.

Still no dice.

Thank you all for your advice. I so appreciate it! I'm open to any other ideas too! :-)

Have you logged into other official Disney websites and can get in? When I go into the gift card website it looks like I am already logged in, because it shows my name at the top of the home screen. But when I click to do anything on the site, it asks me to log in and my login is the same as the regular Disney website.

If the Home Screen is appearing for you, with your name at the top, try manually logging out (click on your name and select Log Out) and then try logging in again. I hope it works for you soon!

Hi there! @fla4fun I can get in to My Disney Experience account on my computer, no problem. I can log in to the www.disneygiftcard.com website. It will take my email address and it will process my password, but then it goes right to this message:

And, that's it. I can't manually log out, because the message above is all I can see and access on the screen. Everything is blank except for this message. This applies for my computer, both DS's computers, and two iPhones on Safari, Chrome, private/incognito websites.

Do you have any other email addresses you could use to create another Disney login? Just to solve your immediate problem.

I have one main MyDisney account that I use for everything, but I have some backup ones that I've created for different reasons over the years. There's no specific reason why you can't have more than one login, especially if you can get a new one to work for your gift cards today?

(I guess if you have your empty cards already added to the site then it could be a problem? I don't know if they are smart enough to detect if the same card is added again to a new login. You'd hope so I guess.)

@jcarwash So, this is becoming hilarious. I took your advice and set up another account using an old email address. It let me set up a password, and when I went to log in to the account with the old email and the password I JUST set up, I got the same "We're sorry, the account is having problems" message.

Can anyone else try to log in to their www.disneygiftcard.com account to see if you are getting this same message? It's 3:03 pm EST. I just want to know if I'm losing my mind or if the internet is plotting against me. :P

TIA!

I just logged in without a problem, using Chrome.

Have you made any changes to your wifi or internet access lately? I was having problems with a number of sites in past months and finally realized it was due to AT&T Active Armor implementing a VPN without asking me whether I wanted it or not. I finally figured it out after returning from a vacation where I couldn't access DISboards at all, even though I could open other websites I normally visit daily.

@CarolynFH hhhmmm...I just cannot understand this. My son got the same error on his iPhone using cellular data. He's a computer science minor, and he can't quite figure this out either. He's going to see if he can figure out the VPN thing. Thanks for another thing to look into. I appreciate it.

Anyone else logged in with no problems or anyone else logging in and getting the same "We're sorry, the account is having problems" message?

New interesting twist. I just tried to log in again with my new account/password and...I got in. When I tried to enter my gift card numbers-the physical gift card numbers that I take with me to WDW, it won't let me enter those numbers. I'm on with Disney IT, and they think it's because those gift cards are hanging in my unreachable original account and can't be in two places at once. Which, makes sense. So, basically my physical gift cards are being "held hostage" by my old account and Disney can't figure out what to do. They have asked if I have receipts for the gift cards, which I don't. I've been using these physical gift cards for years and reloading them with online gift card amounts before I take a WDW trip. They are the old, plastic cards, which are great and not sold anymore. I've been burned with the paper cards by lifting the numbers off with the grey film that covers the numbers. IT is stumped and doesn't know how to help me.

When you managed to get in, were you on the same device and internet provider as you were when you couldn’t get in? For example, were you on your phone using cellular data both times, or was the successful attempt on a different device and/or internet source? I admit, your situation has been a puzzle to me today and I hope you are able to get it resolved before your trip.

As of last check… looks like the Grim Grinning Ghosts in the site have been cleared out! You should be able to access the site.

This is really concerning.!!! I'm currently adding more GC to my account and transferring (consolidating) those into the ONE card that I'll take on our next trip. What you're experiencing, could happen to any of us. Pls keep us posted. I'd really be interested in knowing what happened and how it was resolved (hopefully!) in case it ever happens to me. BEST WISHES 🤞
