Sadly, it is not the KTTW or MBs. They were flawless at the parks today. It is the doors. An engineer has to come by to reset / reprogram it. The CMs said some folks have dealt with this since Thursday. The system went down and it has been messed up since. Not everyone is having this issue, though.

Glad everything else is working okay. I was excited for POP and MBs......until I decided to read a bit of this thread ;).

Lol! Have faith! Most folks are doing okay with everything. We just got "lucky"! ;)

Well I hope that kind of luck runs out soon for ya.

I wonder if it persists if they can switch you to a new room easier than farting around with incompatible doors and MBs.

We are checking into POP Nov.30-Dec.6 for our very 1st WDW trip. I have enjoyed reading through this thread. I have already customized our MB's, picked FP+ and made all of our ADRs. We can't wait to for our stay at POP, 40 more days!!! I know the rooms are a little small but we have 2 rooms since there is 5 of us.

Oy vey. At least it's a isolated problem (mechanical). Wonder what isn't working?

Thanks for the update.

The RFID mugs gave me a headache this morning. The first station dispensed nothing but soda water into my mug, and the next station told me I'd have to wait 4min 35sec, and by the time I found a CM for help, the time had passed anyway. And the CM I finally found was horribly rude and tried to tell me I'd done it wrong - like it's my fault they can't keep the syrup working!

Still no new bedding or fridge in my room, and the ice machine on the first floor of building 3 hasn't worked for days. I've been to the front desk 3 times about it, too.

Oh no. That's no bueno!!! I'm sorry you encountered a rude CM :(

Checked in saturday night had us in building 8 and they were at 100% capacity for 1 day, but when we checked in sunday for our week stay we were lucky enough to be in building 1. We have a fridge and I think new bedding. Our magic bands are working fine and the fastpass plus has been great. Only problem we had was our dining plan wasnt linking to our bands or our ktwk. But it seems to be working fine today.

Checked in this morning. They had a room ready (70s building 10). Working fridge, old style bedding. Magic bands are working perfectly so far. Loving my first stay at Pop!!

I'm so ready to be there!!!!! I think we are at 21 days.

Is anyone planning on meeting the talking Mickey at MK today? I think it's his debut!! I'm interested to know what kind of lines will be involved and if I need to use a FP+ for it. I can't decide if DS4 will love it or flip out :). http://www.**************.net/2013/10/talking-mickey-mouse-makes-official-debut-at-walt-disney-world-now-carrying-on-conversations-daily-in-town-square-theater/

Does anyone know if we should keep our Msgic Bands for the next trip? Or do we get new ones each visit?

Reports are that you can re-use Magic Bands for subsequent visits.

I just got back from Pop on Saturday where I used a red Magic Band. Today I customized a pink Magic Band for my December Wilderness Lodge stay.

I've seen theories that after testing is over, they may figure out a way to re-use Magic Bands on subsequent visits. But at this point in time, it's such a small percentage of people who could reuse that they're simply sending out new ones for every resort reservation.

For those of you at Pop now, did they fix the problem with printing KTTW cards yet?

We leave in 10 days and I'm getting nervous with all these bad reports. My DH has not stayed at Pop yet and I've been talking about how much I love it for years...now between the food court going downhill and all these technical issues I hope this isn't a horrible experience.

Speaking of the food court, the only meal we will eat there is dinner our first night. I had planned to walk over to AOA, but DH wants to watch the football game that will start right about the time we arrive at Pop. So, what is good? All my favorites are gone :(

I was in room 0438 in the 70s section. I had a working fridge and I presume old bedding since it was a coverlet. This room overlooked the children's play area. Also noise from the mechanicals at Classic Hall could be heard. So I definitely would not stay in this area of Pop again. I also did not like having to go by a Designated Smoking Area on my way to Classic Hall Food Court. I absolutely hate smelling cigarette smoke.

Overall I don't think Pop will be on my return list. It is very similar to AoA but I like the color schemes at AoA much better. I also prefer AoA's animated movie theming much better than the huge decades icons. I also like the more open feel to the landscaping at AoA. It was immediately clear to me why a snake was reported to have ended up in a suitcase. As a North Floridian, I'd never have vegetation growing that close to an entrance door -- it's a great invitation for bugs and other critters to hang out close by. With exterior doors opening to shrubs, it is surprising that more critter encounters are not heard. Thankfully I'd requested top floor and got it.

I'd never say "never stay at Pop again". It was pleasant enough but I'd probably pick AoA again over Pop if I thought about staying Value again.

Thanks for the info!

Pop is awesome! Granted, we just now got into our rooms with our MBs, but as far as park entry, charging, BOG FP, they have been wonderful! Kevin at Pop is amazing!! He has really tried to help us out and did not stop today until it was resolved. I knew going in there would be possible glitches. Just stay positive and stick to the DIS! Love you guys!! Off to MK!!

Hi - staying at Pop with my mom for the first time in a few weeks. Which food court do you prefer - Pop or AoA? We will likely only have one or two meals there so I may not have the chance to try both of them. And, are there favorite meals to try? There's a good chance we will be eating breakfast there at least once.

Thanks!

The only real thing I think I could give as advice to POP is in it's on line reservation process

We have 6 in the family and I ended up with two seperate reservations because on line you can't get two rooms with one reservation. Disney did link them but we had a few issues along the way. Here are some of the things that bugged me about it.

1 - Our magic bands would only open one of the hotel doors. 3 of us could open one hotel door and three the other one.

2 - Dinning plan issues. We kept trying to balance the meals since half were on one reservation and half on the other. One night we put them all on one and then other nights we starting splitting up our order. Would have been nice if all the meals were on one and not half on each. One of the reservations ran out of meals early.....

I Love the create your own pasta at AofA and my husband loves the tandoori chicken with naan bread.
