We also drive to WDW and our last trip we only took the bus once to MK after our afternoon break. Even though it drops you off closer to the Main Entrance, the time we spent waiting for the bus to load ate up any time we would have saved. Also, my boys' favorite thing at WDW is the monorail, so we would rather just drive so we can sneak an that extra "attraction" before we even go through the turnstiles. We even got to ride the Avenger-rail twice last time!

Okay, maybe the monorail is one of Mommy's favorite things too! LOL! Riding on the monorail and going through the Contemporary is one of my few memories from my first trip as a 3 year old!

Looks like we'll be there at the same time! We arrive in 7 days.

I prefer regular check in. Just in case I dont like the room location they assign me so we can discuss other options.

Sounds like a plan!!! THANKS!!! We will be the 4 women (DM, & 2 DDs Bella 7 & Abbey 5...)

Hope we both have a magical time!!

OMGGGGGGOOOODNESSSSSSS!!! OMGGGGGGGGOOODDNESSSS
8 more days babbbbbby!!
:cool1::banana::thumbsup2:cool1::woohoo::dance3:

I am soo not excited...:rolleyes1

Anyway for all of my veterans...I have a question...if I do online check in, can I switch my credit card for cash when I arrive?? Meaning I want to put cash down instead of using the credit card??

Or should I just do regular check in when I arrive.????

THANKS..and hope everyone had a great mothers day!!!

Lucky you. I'm jealous. Anyway, yes, you can do on-line check-in and then pay in cash on arrival. They will keep a cc on file for you so you can charge expenses to the room. You can even pay for those in cash if you go to Pop reception before you get to your cc max ($500 for those staying at value resorts).

I'm not sure how they would treat accepting a bunch of cash against whatever charges you make. I personally wouldn't want to do that, but I don't know if it is possible.

It'll be me, DH, and our 8 and 9 year old DD's. We've requested 50's section. I've stayed there 3 previous times and we always stay in the 50's! Did you request a certain area?

You can put cash down at check in for "charging" in the parks. I don't like my CC hooked to my room key, so I always have cash applied to my room key.

Hey - all this talk about charging - we usually pay cash for everything while we're there. DH does a great job of using his rubber-band wallet :rolleyes2 but it seems like it would be nice to put some cash on the room card and charge as we go. Is that how it would work? And could we add cash as we go - like stop by the front desk each morning and check our balance so we can add what we think we need? Also, can you use your room key to charge everywhere? Like, even the drink/snack kiosks in the parks? And at DTD?

Geez... I said A question, guess I had several... :goodvibes

We usually put cash on our room key, add when we need to, if necessary. I will also check with concierge at the resort at least once a day to see what and where the money is going and see if I need to add more.

You can use room charge almost anywhere, there are a few places that won't take it (wish I could remember where), but the majority will. Some few snack carts still only take cash, so we still carry $20.

I always keep a 20.00 on me just in case.. We just charge everything to our KTTWC.

Hi, everyone! We are going to WDW this fall, courtesy of my parents this time around, and staying at the AKL. I decided to surprise my son by going down a day early and staying at the Pop for the night. Since some of my family members aren't great secret keepers, I decided to post about it here before I bust, lol!

Ok so my trip was originally just my DH and I. Sunday night, my DH invites my 22 year old brother (who we took last year). I dont know if I can sleep in a double bed with DH for a week. We are both a bit pooh sized. :goodvibes We will try, but I think we are bringing an air mattress just in case. It will fit, right? We looked at the mods last night, but I really want to stay at POP. Will it work for 3 adults??

They have some king-bed rooms at Pop -- but I don't know if they'll let you put a third adult in those rooms! And there's really no space for an air mattress in the regular rooms. There's no way I'd want to spend even a night in a double bed with my DH, and we're not really big (we're only moderately big... or is that value big?) We tried this at his DB's house on vacation once, and I fell out of bed twice.

WOW! That's a nice surprise. We promise not to tell your son.

I don't think they will put 3 adults in a room with a King bed, not if they have a room with 2 full size beds. They wouldn't when we were going with my mom.

We usually ended up staying at a Deluxe, so we had 2 queen size beds, because I am not squeezing my big behind into a full size bed on bvacation when I don't do it at home.

They won't put 3 adults in a King room. While I've never done this, I think a twin sized aerobed would fit in a regular room. You'd need to move the table and chairs and put it in that space. It will be tight, but doable. I'd just blow it up for when you need it and then put it away during the day. You could also look into getting a roll away, but that would add more cost to your stay ($10/night for the additional adult and ~$15/night for the rollaway).

No rollaways allowed !! But I have definately heard of people using air mattresses !!

Pop Century does have rollaway beds. I've seen them -- the people down the way from us in April had one; we witnessed a CM delivering it to them. Also, our fearless leader Janet B called to confirm their availability and cost. See post 160 of this thread where she states:

Roll-away beds are available, charge is $16.88 (includes tax).
