Janet....yes there was a bounce back but we are Disney'd out for a few weeks at least....takes that little time and then VOILA we are thinking about another visit ...We have AP's and also TIW card....

THE PRINCESS breakfast at Norway was outstanding...good choices in the get what you want room....They bring the eggs, bacon, LG sausages, and potato casserole out to the table with a huge glass of OJ and coffee for us adults and the kids had OJ and milk or whatever they wanted....The room to the side had fresh fruit, bagels, cream cheese, and did I say FRESH fruit...YUMMY...they had applesauce and granola and different types of yogurt...more but heck if I can remember that...The princess's take so much time with each table....Our rug rats were great and loved every moment of it...WE have done the dinner in Norway and didnt do it again...ONLY because the food was not to the kids liking...very authentic types of foods...But again that was our choice...not because it wasnt good..

We also did Crystal Palace (excellent) and Biergarten (FANTASTIC)...crystal Palace had a platter with candies on it and strawberries with chocolate on it and Congratulations on our 45 Anniversary...very surprised and touched by that....

best CS places for different options ...were Cosmic Rays...The half chicken with mashed taters and green beans was great...so moist and I was happy...they had a good amount of choices for all of us...Another great place was Seasons at the Land....fantastic again...

Wished I could of had a burger with a good ol' fashion white bun...oops...as we dont usually do burgers at home but also loved them at the resorts...another wish was they took away spaghetti and meatballs everywheres with a side salad and breadstick....missed that choice...

any other questions ??

 Pumba! So happy to hear you had some pixie dust at CP ... on my 50th bday trip in 2009 we had some surprises too at CP ... table decorated with confetti, cards and cupcakes with a candle in each (both my friend and I were celebrating our big bdays.)

Also, the GF gave us placemats, and a huge decorated cupcake! Very nice.

BTW ... happy 45th!! That's wonderful and special!

Well we do have time to make a decision on Akerhous ... personally I'm fine with either meal. Many thanks for your input.

We like your CS choices too ... we always stop by Cosmic Rays and then ater on at Auntie Gravity during EMH.:thumbsup2 Another fav CS is Flame Tree BBQ in AK and WPE at DTD. Superb!

We will be arriving on June 2nd (Saturday, flight set to land at 4:15, taking ME over). Is it worth doing online checkin or just waiting until we get there? I booked thru AAA and my room requests are all on our reservation. Havent been in 6 years so, I feel like a newbie. Thanks

I know it's a little early, but how long does it take to get from POP to each of the parks? I wanna be there for rope drop every morning and I am a bit nervous about taking the busses since we stayed on the monorail last time. Any advice or help would be appreciated :)

Well, just looked this up for you ... :)

Bus directly to each park (estimated times)

Disney Hollywood Studios - 15 minutes
Animal Kingdom - 20 minutes
Magic Kingdom - 22 minutes
Epcot -15 minutes

Hope this helps as a guideline .... :goodvibes

Thanks!! Was this on the first post?? After posting I thought to myself....hmmm I prolly should have checked the first post.....If it was, thanks for reposting :)

On another note, I am staying at POP in June, but I am also going in September to the Contemporary Resort. I just wanted to say, I am also part of the CR thread, and the people on this thread are so much more helpful and pleasent then on the other thread!! So much so that I am super excited about POP and a bit worried about CR. It was the other way around when we booked, haha!

Thanks again to everyone for their help and excitement!

Not the times, but a web link to calculate transportation times in the transportation section, but I didn't mind doing it! :goodvibes

Yes, this FAQ thread has wonderful POPers, very friendly.:hippie: We like to keep it upbeat and respectful to all who drops by. :thumbsup2 Sorry you haven't felt this over at the CR thread, but am sure you will have a wonderful time in September at the resort. :)

I have a question!

We live about 13 hrs from Disney World and will be driving. Would it be quicker to drive to each park than use the POP bussing system? Since I've never been, I don't know how long it takes with traffic, finding a place to park, etc. I know at the local zoo here that it can take ages to get through the different lines for parking.. and that's a ZOO, not Disney! Do they have a separate line (SHORTER!) into the parking lots for guests staying on site? And then is it a lot longer to walk from the parking area to the gates, than from the bus stop? We're doing rope drop every day so we will get there early.

Just need opinions from experienced people! Thanks!

We'd a car half the time on our POP stays. For when we have a car we usually drive to AK and DHS and take the bus to MK and Epcot.

sometime it depends if we go to DTD on our way to a park, then we drive. It's really a personal choice, POP buses have great service and we like both. If we have a car we will book more ADRs at other resorts since we know it will be easier to transport ourselves to those ADRs.

We always rent a car when the family comes down, and I've taken the bus when I've been down by myself -- I much prefer having a car at the parks. No waiting for the bus, you can park closer to your room (after a long, tiring day, it's much nicer to leave when you want to). The parking entrance generally moves quickly, and exiting, even after parades, etc., is not usually a problem. I will say, though, that if I were driving, we would have gotten lost a lot, but DH has an excellent sense of direction (and is good at reading signs :lmao:). If you have small children, a car is definitely better.

We prefer the buses. Part of vacation for DH is to not have to drive.

14 days away for us too! Yay. Where in MS are you from? We are between Gulfport and Hattiesburg.

We're from Picayune, right around the corner from you.:) How neat that we will all be there at the same time. We should just car pool and save gas.

We do not usually have a car, but we do rent one for occasional WDW trips. If we're staying at Pop, the only time I drive is when we're going to another resort for a meal or event, going to DTD, and going to the water parks. For the theme parks, I'd opt for the busses. The bus drops are closer to the entrances than parking (an exception to that general rule is Epcot if you are among the first to park). The bus transportation provided for Pop is truly the best we've had on property and that is including staying at Poly, WL, FW, BWV, SSR, and all the moderates.

If we have a car, we drive to all parks except MK. It is better to take the buses to MK b/c you can avoid the ride from the parking lot in either ferry or monorail.

Sorry you feel that way about the CR thread! I have stayed there many times (both garden wing and tower so feel free to PM me with questions! :goodvibes)

During our last stay, we were in the Big Wheel building, overlooking the lake and found it very quiet and relaxing being away from the pool views. We also stayed one night in the 90's section, but didn't care for that at all. Is there another section that has a lakeview that is just as quiet or should we just request the 70's again? Thanks!!

I've stayed in 70s lakeview ( quiet) and 60s lakeview. The 60's was louder than the 70s, but it was nice to be so close to the food court and pool. I haven't stayed in 50s, so I don't know about that.

Has anyone gotten to check out, not liked the room location you were given, and been given a choice of room locations? We were at CBR last time and b/c we didn't like our room location they gave us another room. I would have liked a choice. Do they ever do this at POP?

Janet Thanks for the warm welcome! I took my daughter to lunch at the Akershus house and while the Princess interaction was fabulous I would definitely recommend breakfast ressie there. The cold salad bar was delicious but the hot food was a little too weird for me. I think it was more or less the way things were spiced that turned me off. If I make a ressie there in the future it will definitely be for breakfast.

::yes::

Weird. It could be a glitch, perhaps try it tomorrow? Definitely call as well. Let us know what Disney says. And :cool1: for a week!!

Called today but the woman had no idea why I got the online message. She said nothing can be requested until I check in. :confused3

She said I'm already set up for preferred so it should be a room closest to the food court and transportation.

OMGGGGGGOOOODNESSSSSSS!!! OMGGGGGGGGOOODDNESSSS
8 more days babbbbbby!!
:cool1::banana::thumbsup2:cool1::woohoo::dance3:

I am soo not excited...:rolleyes1

Anyway for all of my veterans...I have a question...if I do online check in, can I switch my credit card for cash when I arrive?? Meaning I want to put cash down instead of using the credit card??

Or should I just do regular check in when I arrive.????

THANKS..and hope everyone had a great mothers day!!!

Looks like we'll be there at the same time! We arrive in 7 days.

I prefer regular check in. Just in case I dont like the room location they assign me so we can discuss other options.
