My son and I have already decided to take in a breakfast at AoA during our stay. Love Pop, but can't wait to see AoA. Love the idea of make your own smoothie bar...mmmmmm

We've eaten there a few times. Loved the Surf and Surf burger! We haven't tried the smoothie bar yet. Maybe this time!

:woohoo: Let's us know how it all looks!!

This is how it looked the last week of August when we were in Orlando for Star Wars Celebration VI

Can't wait to see the fences down!

The car is packed and we're ready to go! In a few hours we will be hitting the road for the long drive to Disney!!! :drive: Can't wait to get back to POP!!!! Thanks to everyone on here for all the great advice and ideas!

There is no price difference, but there are not many rooms available with king size beds, so requesting one and getting one may or may not work out.

we're really really hoping for a king bed! we're big people and will just not fit in a double!:sad1:

Thanks so much for sharing the link!! Can't wait. Oh and those babycakes, yum! My son goes crazy eating them since he's gluten free! He loved the mint icing, but hated the vanilla. But that didn't really matter, he could eat the brownie without worry!

Bummer the prices went up on food though. Glad we have our TiW!

I just wanted to add that they keep extra towels in cupboards right at the front desk - guest services. We saw people request them a few different times when we were there in August, and the CMs literally turned around and pulled them out of the cupboard.

On our first day, we left a note for housekeeping to please leave extra towels for us. She put several on the shelf above the closet and kept us well stocked for our entire stay.

The towels are just bath sized towels and are not cushy quality, but they serve their function well. I sure wouldn't pack a towel in my luggage.

Maybe it was me.. I went down the first night to get towels. I always grab them from the front desk so I don't have to bother mousekeeping.

Could have been you Kelly! I want to go back.

Should I call and put in requests now or just wait and do it at online check in? Before I had always done it when booking, but booked online this time. The request isn't too specific, just thinking of requesting building 4 or 5.

Online check-in will let you request the 60's section (but not specific buildings), so if you're happy with either 4 or 5 from the 60's possibly being assigned, you can wait until online.

If you want to request one of those specific buildings now, you should call and request the specific building.

You can request a particular area when you do online check in, but you can't narrow it down to particular buildings during online check in. 4 or 5 is the 60's right? You can request 60's during online check in if you booked preferred. You get a choice to mark two different things.

We wandered through all of AoA Yesterday and the little mermaid section is fun but the Cars area is SERIOUSLY cool. The landscaping in every area changes and it was like being in Radiator Springs!

Sadly my girls were taken down by the stomach flu. While getting them off the DTD bus I turned around from pulling the stroller off to a chorus of "awwwwww"s and found our 15 month old painting the loading steps with her last meal. :( We took a whole bus out of commission. Thank goodness we didn't have real plans for the next 24 hours!

60's isn't currently limited to preferred rooms. It has standard, preferred, and preferred pool. :goodvibes

Oh wow, I didn't realize that. Guess I need to take a look at one of the maps again! That's where they put us when we requested preferred and I just assumed the whole building was.

so i am looking at the satellite view of POP and am wondering where the entrances are for the classic hall. i requested to be in building 9 (80s section). it looks like a quick walk to the side of the classic hall (about 2 minutes), but i can't tell if there are doors there or not. if not, then i would have to walk either to the back of classic hall or to the front (by the buses). can anyone tell me if there are doors on the side of the classic hall building? :confused3 thanks!

also, according to google maps, it will take me roughly 5 minutes to walk to the bus stop farthest from building 9 (near the main entrance). does that sound about accurate?

Doors to Classic Hall are across from The Hippy Hoppy Pool !! There is a set close to the 70's section so that would be your closest. There is another set closer to the Lobby entrance on that same side and of course you can go thru the gift shop too!!

Anyone have the address or e-mail to send a letter about my expereince at pop. Thanks

You're right, there are no doors on the side of Classic Hall. The doors are in the back facing the pool or in the front by the buses.

When I stayed in building 8 previously, I walked around the back of Classic Hall to get to the food court.

The 5 minute walking estimate is fairly accurate -- it does not take that long.
