I requested a preferred view to be closer to buses and classic hall, but it doesn't seem to be worth it after studying the maps better. My dad will be in an ECV, so we will coming off the elevator in the middle of the building, so no straight shots to either I see now. Is there one building where the walkways actually get one to classic hall quicker?

I like building 1 in the 50's section. I also like a ground floor -- because of a stroller -- but the same point about not needing to use the elevator in the center of the building. If you have preferred in building 1 you will be very close, plus there is a little shortcut around the front of Classic Hall where the luggage center is.

Thanks for the response. 50's building is one I was looking at, and the tips about the shortcut helps a lot!

:wave2: Good Morning.....we have 6 days to go and we will be at the POP :cool1:

I did the online check in and when I went to pick the building that we would like to stay in (50's with a lakeview), it gave me a number to call. :crazy2:

When I called the number the CM was really nice but told me I could not pick the 50's building as I only have a standard room and not a preferred room

I did ask for him to make a note that we would like to stay in the 50's building with a lakeview as I know we may not get the 50's building.

I thought all buildings had standard rooms....did I read the map wrong? :confused3

Every single building and section in Pop has standard rooms, even when the section also has preferred rooms. The information from the CM is wrong. There may be some other reason why 50's couldn't be requested during online check-in, but it's not because there are no standard rooms.

Some CM's are NOT well informed !! I was told by one that adjoining and connecting were the same they were not different !!:rotfl2: Of course we got adjoing rooms that were not Connecting :rotfl2:

Thank you!

We ate at Pop! Got our online request. Room was ready when we checked in. There was only one problem. We ate then went to the room. Maintenance was in the room when we got there. Apparently our toilet was broken and a rod missing from the curtain. It would have been nice to be given the heads up about maintanance being at our room. I would have used the restroom at classic hall if i knew, lol.

Hey guys, has anyone stayed at Pop actually on Halloween? I am curious if there are any special activities worth hanging out at the resort for the evening. No kids, just me. And I am doing MNSSHP the night before. TIA

Great question! We are also staying at POP over Halloween and will be at MNSSHP on the 30th, as well! We paln to be at EPCOT for EMH on Halloween night, but if they have something superawesome going on at POP perhaps we will check it out.

Can someone tell me if there are towels for the pools? We aren't going to a park on our arrival day, but would like to swim when we arrive. If our room isn't ready, will we be able to get towels to use somewhere?

You can ask the front desk for towels. There will not bar any at the pool.

There was back in 2010. That was the last time we were there during halloween. They had special tables up so the kids could do crafts ect. Not sure if they are doing it anymore but they started that around 4 or 5 pm. I'm just not sure with the all day activites if they are doing them anymore.

During online check in were you attempting to request an actual building number or just a certain section, like the 50's, 70s?

Are there safe in the rooms?

Yes. There are safes that are locked with a key. They are not huge, but big enough for an iPad, wallet, jewelry, etc

Thanks, I'm just trying to decide whether to hang out around the resort or hit up Epcot for more F&W!

When we were there in August. We stayed in the bowling pin section and during the evening (not sure if it was there during the day we were always at the parks) by the Elevators in building 3 there was a cart of towels to use for the pools every night.

No, just asking for the 50's section with a lakeview. Maybe lakeview rooms are preferred rooms. Will find out in 5 days :cool1:

Just returned from a week at Pop. We requested 50's first floor but checked in early and they had 60's 2nd floor available. We had 2 rooms together. everything was great but "Mousekeeping". We were in building 4. No towel decorations like we had in June (different building) and the first 3 days they didn't come and do room or leave towels. My sons connecting room was done but not ours. One day we came back at 4 and the room wasn't done so I went and complained at the desk. They said it was probably cause we has do not disturb sign out, we didn't but they came and did it that day and then it was done the rest of the week. Other than that everything was perfect. I love the views from the benches by the lake, beautiful.
