Trivia. The Flyers and Eagles both lost the same night making Philadelphia the 2nd city to have its football and hockey teams both lose the same night their baseball team was eliminated. Do you know who the first one was?

I expected the Phillies to be a non-factor in the playoffs. The indications were there all summer.

The Flyers first game of the season? Pffft. They’ll be the same also ran in the 30th year of their “rebuild.”

The Super Bowl winning Iggles getting embarrassed by the 1-4 Giants was the shocker.



I think it was worse in early November 2022 when both the Phillies and Union (soccer) lost championships on the same Saturday. .

The Blue Jays looked like themselves again last night. Not sure who it was that showed up in the first two games.

When it comes to being superstitious, nothing beats Baseball players and fans.

Here are some of the ones that come to mind:

• Don't say the words "no hitter" when a no-no looks imminent.
• Avoid stepping on the foul lines and jump over them.
• Rally caps when your team is down.
• Wearing socks or other clothing a special way.
• Don't change/wash your winning underwear.
• Don't count outs (my own, after witnessing the Cubs Bartman game in person).

So, I ask my Baseball friends this: Why in the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks did the Brewers pose under an "L" flag?



Didn't they realize it was bad juju? Now, they are cursed. The beat the Dodgers every single game they played them this season until the NLCS and just dropped two games at home.

FWIW, Yes I am a Cubs fan but I rooting for the Brewers even after the "L" flag nonsense. But I can't help but wonder if pwning the Cubs by making fun of the "W" flag and flying s giant LOSER flag over your heads was worth it.
