Hi all!

Very excited to be staying at the VGF for the very first time this summer. I'm looking for some opinions from people who frequent the VGF and love Epcot as much as I do!

I'm visiting Epcot on our second day, and want to know how everyone best likes to gets to Epcot from the Villas (particularly before rope drop!) Do you walk to the GF Lobby and take the monorail to the TTC and transfer, or walk through the Poly grounds to the TTC and get on the Epcot monorail from there? I know the villas are very close to the Poly and I like the idea of not taking the monorail all the way around to the TTC then switching, but I'm not necessarily sure if walking straight to the TTC will actually get me to Epcot faster. I would prefer to not employ the use of Lyft/Uber/another ride service.

Share your experiences, please! TIA!

I have done both. Prior to the expanded security check, I would walk to TTC on cool mornings. The one time I walked after expanded security was put in place, I had to walk to the far side of TTC to go through security prior to boarding the Epcot monorail and go through security again at Epcot.

depends on the time. if its near MK opening time, the monorail at GF can be crowded, so I would walk to the TTC, (I love walking the Poly grounds) - but before rope drop, I would not mess with the resorts monorail line

its its later in the day, I might do the resorts monorail like from the GF lobby. It will be quicker to walk to TTC on most days

I've also done both. I guess it just depends and not too much of a difference if the monorail comes quickly to GF. If it's delayed for some reason then walking thru the Poly is definitely faster but of course you don't know ahead of time.

It's a few minutes faster to walk through Poly to the TTC. A nice walk too!

Thanks all for your opinions!

MK and Epcot are both opening up at 9 for the morning I'm looking at, so the monorail will probably be crowded with MK rope droppers around the time I want to leave. I'm leaning towards walking to the TTC.

That's probably what I would do then since they are timed together.

Yeah both are fine. Really isn't too long of a walk through the Polynesian resort. We have done that, along with doing the same on the way back. Other times though we are still sleepy and not in a hurry so just enjoy the ride. I think it's faster to walk.

Where's the "drive my car" option? That's our way.

If I didn't have a car, I would probably walk over to Poly to get there earlier.

Minnie Van or Lyft from the front door of the Villas directly to Epcot. Easily the quickest and easiest method.

We do a split stay with an EP/HS resort. 🤣

I know, that wasn't really an option. The few times we have done it, we've booked an early breakfast at Kona Cafe or Ohana (and walked to Poly) and then walked to the EP monorail from there. The breakfast breaks up the walk.

Alternate transportation (when I can get away with it, I don’t think MK CM’s like it, and it would be bad if the MK platform was full on the other side)

Take monorail to MK. While on the MK platform, board an empty Express monorail cabin to TTC, transfer to Epcot monorail with no ramps at the TTC.
