Points Question...

I have (6) nights booked at OKW in November. We just decided to shorten the trip to (4) nights. Will I lose the points for the 2 nights, or will I be able to bank them? Still new to this..any help is appreciated.

AS long as you are 31 days or more out from when the reservation starts, you can put the puts back into your account. Whether or not you can bank them depends on if you are inside the banking deadlines for your use year.

Sorry to hear that you have to shorten your trip. By any chance are the two days that you need to drop Nov 8 & 9 in a studio. If so I could rent them from you. Just let me know if you are interested.

you are more than 31 days out from your Nov trip, so you can cancel and the points will go back into your general pool that you can bank (assuming you are still within your banking deadlines).

Whether you can bank or not depends on the following:

What your use year month is. (This determines your banking %)

What is your total contract size (All add-on's for this contract included) (This is what the % is calculated on) EG 150 OKW + 50 BWV = 200 pts. If currently in 50% window, then 200 x 50% = 100 pts. maximum bankable.

Have you already banked any of your points. These are subtracted from maximum bankable. EG you already banked 50 pts, then maximum bankable in above example is 100 - 50 = 50 pts maximum bankable.

You're outside the 30 days so you're OK there, the points will not go into holding.

One more consideration, so as to really confuse poor DIS-NH: All of the above excellent info assumes that the points for the cancelled nights are current use year points. If they were originally banked or borrowed points, they must be used in the current use year. They cannot be banked to NEXT use year.
