Ver gross looking but yummy. Perfect for a 7 year old boy birthday or a bunch of shipyard construction workers. They love it. Dh's boss is trnsferring and I making it for his party.

OK, who is brave enough to make this for their next work potluck or family get-together???? This is for all you cooks out there looking for something just a wee bit different.

COMPLETELY EDIBLE, BUT YOUR FRIENDS MAY NOT THINK SO!
CAKE INGREDIENTS:

1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix with a few drops of green food coloring.
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS":

1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

Once cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

Oooh, Auntie Im (ok if I call you that, too?) pretty pretty!

I am soo stinking hot. I have one 20 minute break before my next piano lesson - the room with the piano is the hottest one in the house, and this time of year it really starts to get to me, being in here for hours on end at the hottest time of the day. For some reason the air conditioning just doesn't make it in here very well. I do keep a fan running, but most of the air from that hits the students and doesn't make it to my chair.

Wah. Could somebody please call the wambulance for me?

Yes, you can call me Auntie Im! We want to get a piano for our living room next year.

I really don't want to leave work today - it means going out in the 100 degree air to the 150 degree subway and then walking 8 blocks :scared: :faint:

And actually it's quite tasty if you can get past the look. Kids dig right in but adults tend to be too grossed out.

Speaking of college, our 15yo really needs to start thinking about it. I think a couple years at a local community college would do him good, but we still need to look around and make a decision. He so doesn't have his act together with studying, etc, but has improved a lot in the last 6 months, so there is hope.
There is good and bad to the CC route. I have to say I am sooo glad I didn't do that. There are many life lessons in those first two years away at college. If money isn't an issue, then I would SERIOUSLY consider four years at one university. And I know a great university with an awesome academic program, research facilities and I think its athletic programs are pretty well known. :rolleyes1

Auntie Im, everything is looking so nice! Love it!!

Thanks!

Shug, I love ya, but I don't think I could touch that cake :teeth:

Time to get my frozen bottle of water out of the freezer and descend into the third level of hell (subway!).

Hope to see you all tomorrow :wave2:

Well of COURSE, LiteBrite! You're simply delightful! Even if you do wear Crocs.

Hi all :wave2:

I was so not prepared for that image of the litter box cake . It has to be one of the most creative cakes I've ever seen though.

That's one good looking cake, Shug. I think I'll spring that on my girls someday soon :)

Ohhh, that cake will be perfect for the teens party Im hosting. Thanks Shug for posting it.
