DM3, I haven't caught up on the pot thread today, but I know that thread was starting to smoke and I have a feeling the WM are going to put it out soon, if it's not already closed.

Ha ha. Aren't you the clever girl this morning? It is just a bizarre thread. I think it is pretty funny that the rule following militant DIS when it comes to reusing mugs is all ready to legalize pot though!

I'm the exception--I'm in favor of legalizing pot and I have no problem with people reusing mugs... :teeth: But you're right--a lot of people are for the first and against the second. Just for the record, if it is legalized, I'm not planning on smoking it, but when I found out that it can help migraines I was so tempted. :rolleyes1 I get so many migraines and the thought of something helping them sounds too good, but I'll stick to my Maxalt.

It's funny how some people are like that. Never drink, never smoke anything, don't speed, obey rules but let's legalize pot. :confused3

I rarely follow rules and I want to legalize pot. :thumbsup2

I am not in favor of just legalizing pot, but I do think that one can get the relief one needs with a pill that has the good ingrediences in it. Why must one smoke it to get the relief? The pill should be an Rx. I have asthma and I don't need to smoke my medicine to get relief!!! :thumbsup2

And I think that the smoke from pot is nasty stuff, which is why my DH never did it (and why I would not do it now even if it was legal). I do have a great brownie story, but don't want the thread shut down by me telling that story. Maybe I'll tell it on the pot thread. :rotfl2:

Good morning everybody!

imsorry, I would looooove an iced coffee! I just got back from trudging around campus with Molly, where we had gone to pick up a housing application and do some other little things that needed doing, and I am just about to melt.

Yup, that means we decided to go ahead and have her live in the dorm this fall. She's going to pay her agreed share of the cost by making monthly "rent" payments to us, but we'll pay for it up front. This is Molly this morning: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I think I'll go check out the excitement on the :smokin: thread. popcorn::

I don't actually have an opinion on the pot issue. I do wholeheartedly endorse reusing mugs, but wouldn't lie to get my kid in free. (Although I did take my three yo in without a ticket cause I didn't think about him being older until halfway through the week. We had had annual passes and the first two trips he didnt' need a ticket. The third one he did, and I just kinda spaced out on it.) I just think it's funny that the rule following seems to go out the window. I suppose though that if you posted on the resort board about smoking pot at the Poly pool that might get a rise. :lmao:

Litebrite--I am so excited for Molly!!! I think the way you are doing it with her paying you some each month is a great plan! I will have to keep that in my head for future discussions with my kids. DH has been talking about which colleges our kids might go to which I have been thinking is a bit premature, but after going to Madison this weekend, I am agreeing with him that the U of W at Madison may be a good choice. That is a really nice city. (And MN residents get resident rates at WI schools.)

Shug are you sure you should do that dear? Might make a mistake in your state and give them actual kitty litter. :thumbsup2

Hi everybody :) .

I still in such a sour mood and I have no real reason for it. I feel like I'm in Momma overload lately. Very no time to myself, cleaning up messes that never end, and enjoying it very little. Maybe I need a hobby :artist: . My DH told me yesterday that he has to attend a business meeting in California during my birthday. I know this is totally minor when compared to husbands who are gone for months and months at a time, but it still makes me sad. I'm such a loser about my birthday, you would think I was five or something. I love a big party, huge cake, the works minus the clown.
Okay enough with the feel sorry for me crap. How is everyone? Anyone with fun plans or adventures today?

Red i will make yuo kiity litter cake. it vrey releastic and i prmise to wash the cat box befoer i use it :thumbsup2

Hi all!

Auntie Im! Where have you been? :yay:

I've been mmmeeellllttttiinnggg...........................

do you know how hot the NYC subways are right now? I hope I can make it thru another day.

I got some new drapes, wanna see em? :)

redshoes, you are entitled to feel like a 5yo sometimes and I would be the same way about my birthday! You might not want to start a new thread about it, however! :rotfl:

Shug, no biggy about the book! Stay out of the kitchen, away from knives!!! :scared1:

DM3, lucky you on resident rates at Madison. We were hoping that our kids could get them since my DH is an alumni there, but nope, they don't. I don't know that our DD would have gone there, but her cousin who is the same age is there and we sure would have considered it. Winters are so brutal, though, but at least with family nearby it wouldn't have been the same as going real far away without having family nearby. But she wanted a small college, anyway.

Speaking of college, our 15yo really needs to start thinking about it. I think a couple years at a local community college would do him good, but we still need to look around and make a decision. He so doesn't have his act together with studying, etc, but has improved a lot in the last 6 months, so there is hope.

Poor Auntie. :guilty:
Put ice in your underdrawers. :thumbsup2

Yes I want to see your drapes! :cheer2:

Imsorry--I want to see the new drapes. I stink at home decor and need inspiration. And why does Briar call you Auntie?

T&B--the big college thing kind of freaks me out too. DH and I both went to very small private colleges, but I seriously doubt that our budget will be able to handle the tuition of a small private place. Unless things seriously look up in the next 8 years that is. Maybe I could win the lottery or rob a bank. :rotfl:

redshoes--I am sorry you are having a hard time. I have been there too many times to count. This mom job is a hard one that doesn't get a lot of credit. I feel so much better about my kids when I leave them for a little while. Is there a girl in the neighborhood who could come in an afternoon here and there?

Shug, what is kitty litter cake?

Briar and I go back a ways; some people call me Auntie Im!

DM3, Madison at least used to have great ice cream at the student union. We used to buy it even in winter and then eat it when standing outside waiting for a bus. :rotfl: Can't imagine doing that now. We were only there for 2 years while my DH was getting his masters.

Oooh, Auntie Im (ok if I call you that, too?) pretty pretty!

I am soo stinking hot. I have one 20 minute break before my next piano lesson - the room with the piano is the hottest one in the house, and this time of year it really starts to get to me, being in here for hours on end at the hottest time of the day. For some reason the air conditioning just doesn't make it in here very well. I do keep a fan running, but most of the air from that hits the students and doesn't make it to my chair.

Wah. Could somebody please call the wambulance for me?
