Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2025 Edition

It is, but I’d easily give up 40% there for a very limited time compared to what the dining discount was like before. This is a downgrade.
Definitely disappointing. Worthless to us as we will be in Disney May/June and don’t care for the restaurants offered during our visits. Tom Bricker from Disney Tourist Blog did mention possibility of additional discounts being offered.🤞

I'd be all over the Toledo discount if we were staying at Coronado but I'm not going out of my way to schlep over there from BWI or Poly and the rest of those places are not worth going out of your way for at best and complete trash at worst (sorry Tiffins enjoyers). Maybe Tusker House brunch on my birthday would be appealing but we're doing Caring for Giants on our AK day and I'm very hesitant to book a TS because I don't know how long to really allocate for that experience and don't want to feel rushed.

This feels a lot less like AP appreciation and more like "we're trying to put butts in seats at underperforming restaurants". It's a complete joke compared to what we got the last couple of years. I get ditching the festival booth discount since F&G is back to its normal timeframe but losing 20% discounts at some of the most popular places, without stupid restrictions on the days or dates, really stings.

What I believe is going on at Disney is that Bob Iger is choosing to spend most of Disney's maintenance money on DVC resorts, cruise ships, company acquisitions, and housing. That’s why Great Movie Ride got replaced, Muppet*Vision is closing, and Magic Kingdom's Rivers of America is on the line. He’s become later era Michael Eisner, but worse.

I’m not sure that I understand the connection. The replacements for the closures you mention will ultimately cost much more than the maintenance/updating on those attractions would.

I believe that there’s too much of the first four things I mentioned that Iger is building.
