My family's all meeting up at the World tomorrow. Daddy thought it would be fun if we each paid for a meal, so I'd picked Rose and Crown. My sis (a CM) got ADRs for us, then text messaged me to say she could get us a later seating with the Candlelight package thing at 1:30. I swear the price she quoted me was $12 per person LESS than what it's going to be ~ something told me to check with her. I teach and don't have a lot of extra money, so this basically means no souvenirs or anything for me for the trip. Needless to say I'm not a real happy camper right now.

Please tell me this lunch and show thingy will be worth it.

eta: she's obviously NOT a dining reservation CM

http://allearsnet.com/tp/h_cpfaq.htm has good info about the Candlelight Processional.

It looks like it will be $36.99 (adult) & $12.99 (child) for the Rosa & Crown dinner package. For a family of four adults it would be about $148 plus tax and gratuity. I'm not sure if discounts are available for the dining packages, like CM discount, AP, or DDE.

Good luck!

Yeah, she told me the $36.99 thing today. I swear she had said $24.99 earlier. I would NEVER have said yes to $40/per person. I don't even pay that for meals here in NYC.

Oh well. I don't need souveniers anyway I guess. :(

You can always try and change to another restaurant, but for the CP, I believe they're all a little pricey!! Have a great time!!

The CP thing was her idea and sadly she already told the parents about it ~ not the restaurant, but the priority seating. So they're all excited about it. They get into that kind of thing. I'm going to church tonight, and that's enough Christmas Story for me.

But I shall play along. It'll be a nice nap if nothing else. And expensive nap, but I'm sure I've seen worse on Broadway before (where the average prix fixe pre- or post-theatre dinner including the same things is around $25 for the evening (weekend brunch usually less than $15 including alcoholic beverages)...hence the shock at $36.99/person for LUNCH ~ at least at 1:30pm I'd assume it's a lunch menu).

Sorry but.......why don't you just explain to Daddy that you can't afford that? What would be the problem?

Change your reservations to a different place. These two are less expensive for lunch. Biergarten is fun.

The Garden Grill Restaurant - Land Pavilion
Biergarten - Germany Pavilion

Seating 1 - $27.99 plus tax & gratuity / (3-9) $12.99 (Lunch)
Seating 2 & 3 -$32.99 plus tax & gratuity / (3-9) $14.99 (Dinner)

Sorry your sister did that to you but it will be Christmas time, you will be seeing a pretty darned good Candlelight Processional and you get one of the best narrators in Gary Sinise. You'll be with your family. Please don't let something like this get you down. I'm sure everyone will be willing to chip in a few bucks if you can't financially swing it.

The CP is a hot ticket item. I really think you will like it. I agree, I would go for one of the less expensive places. I like Biergarten under any occasion :thumbsup2 and would take that against R&C any day anyway. At this late date, just be glad you have a place decent to eat in WS. :santa: :rotfl:

We had lunch ar R&C a few years back and thought it was just okay. I'd also try one of the others.

It all worked out. I got a check I wasn't expecting, so yay! :) She didn't remember telling me a cheaper price...but it's all good. Honest mistake.

We had a great time. We missed Gary by a day ~ we got Rita Moreno. It was very nice. I was a little Christmas Story-ed out, but the music was nice ~ and I loved watching the percussionists. (We were on that side of the stage.) And we loved Rose and Crown. It was a first time for all of us to eat there. (None of us like German food, so Biergarten is never an option for us. We're not overly picky, but we know what we don't like!)

I think you would be surprised to see what is German food. I thought the same thing about that restaurant for years and now it is our favorite restaurant.

I don't think so. Plus we really don't do buffets ~ one or more of us have gotten sick at too many. But that's why there's chocolate and vanilla so to speak. :)
