Please tell me my spending $$ will be enough!

DS14 and I are going for 6 days and 7 nights. I planned on about $450 for food with us eating breakfast in the room each day and only 3 sit down meals. The rest will be counter service. I bring lots of snacks for the room as well. I plan on about $400 or so for the rest. It averages out to about $100 a day for everything. What I do is put $100 in an envelope for each day of the trip. Then, at the end of the day any money left over goes into a fun money envelope that I use for extras or hopefully take home to go toward my next trip a month after.

Could you teach my wife how to budget? I would love to get hotel, tickets and food for a week for a grand. We purchased the dining plan and figured we would still need another $1500 for the 4 of us Me, DW, Dtwins(8).

I am sorry, I misspoke: hotel and passes will hit us around $1000, or usually under $500 each. There are only 2 in my group, and we typically split hotel and passes between us. We stay at the Value resorts, usually split the cost of an AP and a regular hopper pass between us, stay during value season and get the AP rate. All of that will typically hit us under $500 each. The rest becomes our spending money, and I typically spend less than $500 for the week, eating at mostly sit-down restaurants and buying very little souvenirs. I imagine with a family of 4, it would be much more challenging, especially with the souvenirs.

So it was actually under $1000 for me personally (6 nights/7 days, hotel, passes, food), and not two people; sorry for the sloppy writing!

wow! my roomate and i are going next week and I am budgeting only about $30 per day for food (we are both light eaters)...we will do mostly counter because we'll be busy running from attraction to attraction...but also planning one dinner at Jiko. As for souvies, i plan to buy a silver charm and a couple of xmas ornaments...that's it. Without kids, we don't spend a lot of money on 'toys'.

you should be ok with being by yourself. It is after you are married and have children that the complaints start!! I am tired of eating hamb/chicken/pizza--I need a decent meal!! and on, and on and on. . .I didn't start with the extra ps dinings until after being married with a child!!

have a great time!!
