PLEASE reassure me about CBR!

Stop worrying! CBR is a gorgeous resort.
Our room was even out in Barbados and the size didn't bother us. It's all relative.

We are leaving on the 26th. We originally picked POFQ but no free dining rooms were available so we picked CBR. We are a little nervous also but like another poster said, " it is Disney". I'm sure we will have a blast.

We just got home last night from 7 nights at CBR. We had a preferred room in Martinique Bldg. 25. We were die hard POP fans and I thought my 12 and 10 y.o dd's would miss the themeing but we all LOVED CBR. The pool is great, the beaches are great, we had no problem with the buses and the rooms seem a lot bigger. I don't think we'll ever stay at POP again.

Nobody in my party liked CBR at all. We will not be staying there again. (That said, I am in the minority on that opinion as far as the boards go.)

The grounds are beautiful. Truly. Tropical without Poly prices. Food is good. Pools are nice. :)

CBR is our favorite Moderate. We just love the laid back atmosphere of the resort. We have been there when it is at capacity, Free Dining, and it never felt like it. To us it's like having 2 vacations in one. When we need a break from the craziness of the parks, CBR is a welcomed break. Depending on how long we're going, we always schedule at least 2 resort days to chill and recharge.

Our DS10 loves the pool and we have a hard time getting him out of it. The staff has always been awesome, though that can be said at every resort. Every village has its own bus stop so you are never far from one.

We have recommended CBR to 6 or 7 families and every one has been thankful.

Now stop worrying and enjoy counting down the days!

I'm happy I stumbled upon this thread. I am staying CBR in just a couple of weeks and I can't wait. But what concerned me was all the negativity that I saw on the boards. It seemed like everyone preferred a different moderate. I've stayed at CS before and it was great. Lately I've stayed at AS Sports and POP. They were fun! But this trip I'm looking forward to fun and relaxation. This thread definitely made me think I will get both! Thanks for the reassurance! :cool1:

We were in the same exact position as you two months ago. Was staying at Pop and then an offer came up where CBR was just a little bit more. Only stayed at POFQ, which we loved, so took the plunge. My brother and I are teens and we (especially me) adored pop century and we all got a little nervous.

That being said we LOVED it. It was such a nice change, it was beautiful and much more relaxing. The beach was fabulous and the theming was gorgeous. It was quiet all the time and the rooms were nice as well. Don't worry about it, you'll have a great time!

We stayed at CBR for a week in 2010 and loved it. We were off a quiet courtyard and the grounds were well kept and beautiful. Loved the pool area, the food court was great too. The store had more supplies than the one at CSR. We thought the resort was beautiful and bought a print of the resort to frame.

We stayed at CBR a few years ago and loved it. The rooms are nice and large, beautiful. The entire resort is beautiful and yes very big. But the bus service was one of the best we ever used. They even have an internal bus system to take around the resort if you want. Your girls are going to love it. My boys loved the pools. Don't worry you are going to WDW you will have a great time. Enjoy it. :cool1:

We love this resort! We were booked to stay there in December until our party size grew from three to six, so we had to switch the The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. (I've never been there -- so we're a little nervous about that one!)

Now, we thought the best building to request was Jamaica because you are only a short stroll across the bridge over the gorgeous lake to the main pool/food court and in the other direction, you are only a thirty second walk to the bus stop.

We had a great time using paddleboats on the lake and hubby and son even went out in a motor boat!

It's a great resort! Hope you have a wonderful time!

we stayed there in December and again this past June. I also stayed here fairly frequently on family trips growing up, but it's a very nice resort, and i don't mind the size. We were in Aruba in December, so across the lake from the food court, and we didn't mind the walk at all. We felt the spacing was better here between bus stops and amenities than at POR, which we had just stayed at in September 2011. We booked preferred in June because we got a passholder rate, and we were in Martinique, in the building right next to the food court, which was awesome for food/pool/mug refills, the only drawback was that the bus stop there was frequently 2-3 times more crowded in the mornings than the others, but that was to be expected.

We don't usually stay at the same resort twice in a row, so my fiance must have liked it to want to stay here again 6 months later. I think it's a great resort!

We love CBR! We have stayed there twice, most recently for 11 nights in late March into early April. The grounds are some of the loveliest of any resort, the main pool is great, the quiet pools in the villages are my favorite quiet pools and we love the rooms not only for their decor but also they are a tad larger than the other mods (and the same size as standard rooms at the WL and AKL).

We love the lake and really enjoyed the plentiful seating all around the lake and spent a lot of time out there relaxing and just enjoying the scenery. Dh and I enjoyed the hammocks, especially the night we shared one with a very good view of the high up fireworks of Illuminations.

The resort is large, however we find it to be a very well laid out resort and never found the walks to be a problem. Our first stay we were in Barbados, last time we were in Jamaica. We loved both sections. There is the internal shuttle but honestly we have never used it and to be honest, it was always empty each time it stopped at our bus stop.

My take on the fact CBR is not getting an equal amount of love around here is that its not newly refurbbed. There was a time not so long ago, that POR was the same way (and we love that resort as well). Before its refurb you'd see a lot of posts on here and on tripadvisor about worn out rooms etc.

Each and every resort goes through its honeymoon and not so honeymoon phases on forums. I am not saying bad things can't happen at any resort but just that a newly refurbbed resort will come off better in reviews because the rooms are new.

To us, CBR is a great resort, our room was in very good shape and always spotless and we would never hesitate to stay there. We are set for CSR this next trip and are very excited, but part of me wants to stay at CBR since it was such a great experience on our last trip. Ditto with POR which we also love!

Have a great trip and I hope you are feeling better since as you can see, CBR has lots of well deserved fans!:goodvibes
