We are staying at the Yacht Club in October. What is the difference between the Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Caribbean Beach resort? They all seem to be in the same vicinty. What makes one better then the other?

The Yacht Club and Boardwalk are Deluxe resorts, the Caribbean Beach is a moderate. There will be a substantial difference in cost between the deluxe and moderate prices. Boardwalk and Yacht Club are located on a walkway between EPCOT and Disney Studios. There is also a boat ride the connects them. I have not stayed at the Boardwalk or Yacht Club but have visited them. They are nicely themed. I have stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort and it, too, is nice but not quite the theming of the Deluxe. I would do the compare resorts on the WDW site. As far as making one better than the other price, theming and just what you like. The Caribbean Beach resort is only reached by bus. The other two are very much closer to EPCOT and Disney Studios.

The Yacht & Beach Club and the Boardwalk Inn are in the same area...they are opposite each other with a small water area between. You can actually walk all the way around the water. The Swan & Dolphin are at one end of the area, and Epcot at the other. All these are deluxe resorts, whereas Carribbean Beach is a moderate. So you will see a difference in the room decor and amenities. Also, the Yacht Club and Boardwalk Inn are "hotels"...main lobby, elevator to hallways with entrances to the rooms. Carribbean Beach has a main building with the lobby, food court, etc. The rooms are located in many buildings with a separate outside entrance to each room.

We own DVC at Boardwalk and love the area. It is really beautiful at night and because of all the hotels in one area you have access to a lot of restaurants without having to take a bus or car. The boardwalk is fun in the evening and you can easily get there whether you stay Yacht Club or Boardwalk.

Have a great time!

Well, first off, all of those resorts are lumped in the same general area, except for CBR. Although CBR is considered an Epcot resort, it is not walking distance or in direct view of Epcot. CBR is a lovely place to stay though. Fun Caribbean theming, beautiful grounds, neat pool.

YC & BC are located right next door to each other. They are fairly similar in theming (YC more boat oriented & BC more old time beach theming). They share the best pool in WDW called Stormalong Bay. You can walk to Epcot & DHS from there. Some people prefer YC over BC because not all BC rooms have a full balcony. But others might prefer BC over YC because they prefer the overall theming.

BW Inn is located on the opposite side of that loop, directy in the BW area. This is a very elegant resort & also has a neat pool. BWI offers some absolutely beautiful room views of Epcot & the marina. The BW area is also a bit more livey and hoppin', with all the BW restaurants, bars, and street entertainment.

Out of all of them, I would stay away from CBR if you are looking for location. It's the only one you listed that you cannot walk to Epcot & DHS. If you are looking to save $$, CBR would be your cheapest, since it's a moderate & the rest you picked are deluxes.

I would look on a map & see where each is located. Read up on the specifics & photos on allearsnet & wdwinfo. These will give you prices as well.

Location -- YC/BC & BW are all in the same area and very conveniently located if you want to visit Epcot and DHS. You can walk to either park or take a "friendship" boat from the docks in front of either hotel. You need to use the busses for AK or MK. As for CBR, its all busses, all the time for EP, AK, MK, and DHS. Also it is a really nice walk from the YC to the BW and there are numerous dining choices between these hotels.

Luxury -- YC and BW have interior hallways and are one building each, like a hotel. CBR, a moderate resort, is more like a well-themed motel.

Between BW & YC -- BW has more restaurants (but you can access these wherever you stay), but YC has a much better swimming pool complex, in fact, the best one at WDW. Rooms are similar, views similar (the hotels are facing one another). We love the YC and choose it over the BW simply because of the pools at Stormalong Bay.

If you can afford it, the whole Epcot resorts area is a great location to stay in. The walk to Epcot puts you at the back entrance, just by the many countries of the World Showcase. This is great in the evenings as you can walk to Epcot, have dinner at a different country each night, watch Illuminations, and walk back to your hotel when the park closes. Not needing to use any form of transportation is a plus, especially at the end of the day when everyone tries to get out of the park and onto the busses at the same time.
