Planning for 2 families of 4

Hello, Planning a fall 2021 visit to WDW. My girlfriend and I have our own Brady Bunch. We are 8 in total, wondering what resort is best? One that allows us to have 2 rooms of 4, or should we look at a Suite in one of the DVC resorts? Thank you for your feedback.

Do you all want to be in one unit or are you okay with being split up? If you want to be in one unit, you'll have to get a DVC room, and probably one of the larger ones. If you want two rooms, then the question becomes what tier of resorts you want.

Value is the least expensive but as a result it's basically just a place to sleep, shower and eat. There are pools but again, nothing luxurious. Deluxe will have all the bells and whistles so of course it will cost a lot more. Moderates are halfway between those two.

You will NEVER be guaranteed to having connecting rooms, so be careful. Obviously the best alternative would be either a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom grand villa in a DVC resort. Other DVC option is the Poly which is DVC and will guarantee two connecting studios. I would rent points from someone, rather than paying rack rates for DVC resorts.

I have gotten two connecting rooms twice at the French Quarter resort. But it was a request, not a guarantee. The next time rooms were on the same floor but not close, which means one adult in each room

You don't get a suite with DVC. You get a villa. If you get a dedicated two bedroom villa, the second bedroom will have two queen beds. The living room will have at least one queen sleeper sofa and some will also have a twin sleeper chair (AKV, BLT, OKW) or a bunk sized murphy bed (GFV).
