Pin album question!

Hello all! My husband is a collector of pins but doesn't wear them on a lanyard. This past trip we just took he picked up one of the Disney pin albums. He had a small one before but it isn't big enough now. In his old one he put the pins on the velvet pages and left the vinyl ones as a page divider. In my eyes, the velvet should be the divider so it doesn't scratch the pin surface. Just wondered if anyone knows the "right" way? Thanks!

The vinyl won't scratch the pins. Pushing them through the thicker piece - the velvet - makes them more stable than pushing them through the vinyl, so they don't wobble as much. I think he's got it right. I made my own pin books with pages of fun foam to put the pins on, and then felt in between the pages. I also have a small "official" pin book, and I put my pins in there, using the thicker pages to hold the pins.
