I am taking my kids on the 7 day eastern on April 28. I am very very excited, but we are in the middle of so many things that I haven't planned anything. I booked not long ago, so I will probably have 178,000 questions over the next month.

Anyway, I am wondering how to get them the signed pillowcases. Where do I drop them off and what kind of markers do I bring?

I did use the search function, but kept coming up with old threads. (I think I am going to copy and paste this sentence in my siggy.:rotfl: )

Thanks!

We went to Guest services and did not bring markers. They have markers which I believe are Sharpies. I washed my pillow cases and the ink did not run. I would suggest you tell them to not use yellow as you can barely see it. They are very good about it at guest services.
Enjoy

I just had this done on our cruise last week and they turned out great! I put the pillowcases and fabric markers in a big envelope and dropped it off at guest services on Sunday. They were returned to our stateroom on the last night of our cruise. I also had a couple of mats signed to frame some of cruise pictures with.

Thank you so much for the info! I'll be seeking the answers to lots of pressing questions.:cool1:

I did the same thing for our cruise in December. I put the pillowcases and the color fabric markers I wanted in a ziploc bag. I washed the pillowcases once beforehand without fabric softener. I took them to guest services and told them I wanted all the characters and they delivered them the last night to our stateroom. I have washed them ever since and have had no problems. My DD 6 sleeps on them. Have a great time!:woohoo:

We just got off the 3/31 Eastern and there are some changes that have been made to which characters wil sign.

I requested the same thing I did in the past (all characters including princesses) and was surprised to get only the main characters and no princesses.

I happened to be talking to the character manager and she explained that changes haave been made in the last month.

They can no longer do all the signatures like they have in the past because of the number or items the get per cruise.

They have a a specific group (I have it somewhere if anyone wants to know) and then you can request a specific character as well.

But the days of tons of signatures like White Rabbit and Franco are gone.

You are also no longer able to wak around and get something like a T-shirt or map signed. They make you turn it in to guest services and the set characters will sign it.

She told me that this rule is new and was surpirsed that when I requested al the characters and princess no one at guest services informed me of the change.

Just thought I would pass along the info.

I'd love to know the group, because we're going in May and have our pillowcases all ready to go. It is a bit disappointing that we won't get lots of signatures, but anytime something special like this gets out, you know it won't last long.

Ok, I do not have the paper unpacked yet but from memory.

Mickey
Minnie
Goofy
Donald
Daisy
Chip and Dale
Pluto (I think and 1 more) If I remember correctly there are 8.

You can requst a specific one like Peter Pan, but not a big request.

It was implied that another reason for not letting people go around with items to be signed by everyone is selling things on places like ebay.:sad1:

One lady was so sad that she could not take her item around to be signed by who she wanted....tht was better than the mom who started yelling at one of the character greeters because she wanted more signatures then she got. My DH watched the entire thing unfold.

I was a bit bummed because I made a quilt top to match the pillows from our last two cruises, but glad I got some signatures.

I will verify the list and post again if I missed anyone.

That really stinks... just my luck this happened right before my cruise. Are you saying they will not do the princesses now?

Do your pillowcases look riduculous because their aren't many signatures?

...we did the Eastern Magic last March and my DS' pillowcase only has that "main" group of characters without princesses and it looks great. My DD's is more filled because it has the main group and the princesses, but without princesses it will still look good, IMO. Hope this helps...

Here is DS' pillowcase:

And here is DD's:

Can you still bring a pillowcase with you to the character signing Meet & Greet times and just do it that way? Couldn't you get the princesses to sign your pillowcase then?

I would ask for the princesses as a special request. There is a line for a special request and they said they do fill some of them. I did picture frames and a quilt top. But I think the pillowcase that was shown above looks fine.

They will not sing anything like that anymore. It was implied but not stated by the manager that signing items this way was abused as in sold on ebay.

I watched them make people with maps they purchased on the ship and the piowcase they made in the club be told they could not do the autographs at the meet and greet. They needed to drop them at guest services.

We cruised in Nov 2006 and again March 31 2007. It is the same enterntaqinment crew and they said the number of items has greatly increased in the last four months.

Oh by the way we were on the Magic, but I am sure the rules are the same on the Wonder as the manager told me the decision was made shoreside not be the ships staff.

Thanks for clarifying that. It really is too bad since I actually would be keeping them for my kids. My girls will also have their names embroidered on their pillowcases so it would be a real shame if I then up and sold them on ebay!

At least there is still a way for them to get signed through Guest Services. Hopefully they'll still be allowing that next year when we go.

Hi. we cruised in early February and were fortunate to get a lot of signatures on our case. I did bring my own Sharpies and I also included a bag of Hershey's minitures as a thank you. Maybe that helped. :confused3

Do you bring a pillowcase from home?
Or do you take the ones from your stateroom?
How do you get the names and ect on the cases?
Please help we are taking my niece and nephew with us for the Member cruise.
Thanks
:thumbsup2

Thanks for the pictures. They do look good. I guess this is a statement to the success of disboards because I would not have known to do this except for DIS and obviously there are alot of others that have started this too.

It does stink that people sell them on e-bay, if you do it stop! You should not be making money at the expense of DCL and their passengers.
You have spoiled the Magic for the rest of us. :sad2:

Yes, bring a pillowcase from home (I prewashed mine). I have a friend who owns a t shirt imprinting/embroidery business, so he did my kids names and the ship name for me. You could probably find someone local who does something like that...I have seen cases with no kids' names and they still look cute. You drop off the case (and pens if you want them to use your own) at Guest Services at start of cruise; on last nite the signed cases were delivered to our stateroom.
