Pickle part II

Okay guys... I have my own little pickle.... Here goes..

So you know we booked 9/7-9/10 at BCV as a surprise to our girls, right?
I am not telling hardly anyone here.. multiple reasons, but mostly because some of the other teachers I work with can be ummmmmm, nosy and ugly.... there I said it and I feel much better now!

So, yesterday I had lunch with my two team members on the Kindergarten team and they are not ugly or nasty or anything but wonderful. I decided to tell them and one said, "oooo, that is the first week of school." Well, it really isn't.. it is the second. But then I started feeling bad. I am okay with my kids being out, but should I be out the second week. We have that Monday off, so it would be Tues, Weds. Thurs. and I would be there on Friday. My oldest dd might freak out a little when she finds out, but I am going to contact her teachers ahead of time. They are all straight A kids who cause zero trouble at school. Home... welllllll let's say... sisters... lol

I was thinking maybe I should book for later. BUT we did get 3 days at BCV and every dang dining reservation we wanted....

What do you think?

I think YOU know your kids best and if you think they'll ge all right--then go for it. It's not like they do much the first two weeks or so and you said you were going to contact the teachers. And it's ONLY 3 days. Now, if they were moving to a different school for junior high or high school I might think a little different.

If you are able to get the time off work, go for it. I don't see missing a few days of school at the start of the school year as detrimental to the kids at all. But, that's just me.

You know what the fool just asked me?! OMG. He wanted to know if I have the hotel booked yet. Um, HELLO?!?! Hotel? We are doing a split stay....remember? And no. I don't have anything booked. Let's just fly down in 9 days for kicks and giggles and choose a place then. OMG.

LOL, that would so be my husband. I was just trying to talk to him about this stay coming up and what to do about the points for next year. And he says, "bank them". Well, hello... I did that, but we have to use them before next November or we lose them.

Well, I appreciate your input. I guess I am just feeling a tad guilty about being out of school myself for those days, but I have an excellent sub and assistant and I even have a student teacher this year! I am sure those kids will be in good hands.

For some reason, kids love stitch!! He's sorta, kinda of ulgy, that's his charm I guess.

I didn't know what they were doing at first, but Samantha did love the attention and it made her feel special. She had glittery stuff in her hair even the next day. I was wishing that they gave me a little pixie dust!

Eeyore is his favourite. I just asked him if he would wear the ears if I wore my Mickey ears and he said, "probably not." Whot?!?! So I said, "don't you have disney magic in you?!" AND...AND...he said, "not the way you do."
