If you don't choose their photo package, are you all in the water at the same time, or can one of you take photos while the other is with the dolphin? Or, do they have someone who will at least hold your camera and take photos for you? Or are you basically out of luck?

Having you or your family take the pics seriously undermines DC's ability to sell packages and your family definitely cannot bring a camera with you. The best you can do is have family/friends who are not doing dolphin swim take pics from the shore. They won't be in as good a location for taking the pics. And depending on which group you're in, your personal photographer can be quite far away. I have heard of some good stories where there was a kind trainer and a group in a good location so the trainer could instruct the photographer on the best place to take the free pics.

Good luck
!

You can't bring a camera with you at all. The best you can do is have a non participating member of your group standing at the shore line taking pics...and your group could be VERY far from the shore for the experience.

If you want a good photo you pretty much have to buy one.

You can do the dolphin swim in 2 groups, you just have to ask for that when checking in. A good camera, preferably with a zoom lens, will take good photos. You will want the person taking photos tostand behind where the DC photographer is, since they pose the photo ops in that direction.

But if you want everyone in the water at the same time, or everyone in the photos, you need the DC pictures.
