Our first trip to Disney World was when my DD was 4 (she's 9 now). She was something of a precocious pre-schooler and provided us with 2 moments of hilarity on that trip.
1. The first attraction we did when we got to the parks on the first day was go see Turtle Talk with Crush. During the question portion, DD raises her hand and says "Where do baby turtles come from?" Every adult in the theater started giggling, and Crush said "Who does this child belong to?" When I raised an embarrassed hand, he said "My condolences". After the show, DD said with outrage, "Crush did not answer my question Mommy. And why was everyone laughing?"
2. I took her on Splash Mountain, of which she was immediately suspicious.
DD - "what IS this ride, Mommy?"
me - "it's a boat ride"
DD - "I don't know about this"
me - "why don't you just try it out. If you don't like it, you don't have to go on again."
DD enjoys the ride for the most part - even some of the drops in the middle. Towards the end of the ride, she starts getting suspicious again.
DD - "Is there going to be a scary drop at the end?"
me - "it'll be alright honey." At which time we come to the last big hill. With the two vultures and all of those signs.....
DD - "Oh really? Then why does that sign say CAUTION! BIG DROP AHEAD!"
me (to myself) - "why does my 4 year old know how to read the word caution....."
She ended up enjoying Splash Mountain immensely.
