PART TWO *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I have nearly all our planning done (except some touring strategies).

This is the one dining choice I am still torn about. We are staying at BCV. We will be going to Osborne lights in the evening. I want to aim to see the lights while Fantasmic (6:30) is going on.

Three options----

1. Kouzzina at opening 5, and then drive or boat it over to DHS. We like greek food. Though I hear service can be slow. Never been so could be fun to try new place.

2. Mama Melrose just before 5. I hear mixed reviews about food and service. We like good Italian food. I hear it can take a long time to be seated. Never been.

3. 50s Prime Time. We have eaten here before and enjoyed it. Can sit at 5:20. I don't remember a long wait to sit or to be served.

HELP!!!! :confused3:confused3 We are going with our 2 year old.

I vote for Kouzzina! We had a 5 pm ADR at Kouzzina on our last trip. We ordered an appetizer, salad, entrees and dessert and were still out of there in an hour. The food was fantastic, so much so it's the only place we ate at last time that I've got an ADR for again on our upcoming trip! I think the earlier you get in there the better as far as getting in and out goes, and isn't 5 pm about the earliest they start seating for dinner? I'd be more worried about ending up waiting forever on the boat to HS than dinner taking too long.

Have my shoes. Just need to kick-you-know what to get back and walking. I am going to rehab 2 -3 times a week for 6 weeks. I think I am gonna try walking wdw without the scooter first, but keep it as back up if needed. I def wanna take this cooler therapy thing. How do you deal with flying with "medical equipment"?

Glad to see you back so quickly! Feeling okay after the fix'er'up?

Help needed! We are staying at POFQ on 12/1-12/4 checking into WL on 12/4 and staying until 12/8. I am very tempted to check into WL on 12/3 instead of 12/4. 12/3 is the only evening magic hours for MK (not doing the Christmas party this year) so I really want to be close to MK on that day. Just thinking about the quick bus ride and nice boat ride to MK from WL. The thing is, do I really want to pay an extra $200/250 for one night just to be close to MK. Thoughts? Go!

I'm all for easy location but if you're not spending other time at WL that night, that seems like a lot to save 20 minutes or so.

That is a LOT of extra money just for a boat or bus ride that's a little bit quicker. Heck, if you're worried about waiting on a bus back to POFQ taking a cab from the park back to the hotel the one night after the evening EMH would be LOADS cheaper than checking into WL a day early. And just think of all the fun Disney stuff you could buy with the money you're "saving" by not checking into WL earlier :rotfl:

My initial thought was of course, Do it!!!!! But then you are only at POFQ for 2 nights. Is that worth it for a split stay? I think moving after 2 days would drive me nuts. But you are planning to do it one day later, so maybe that is not a big deal for you. Does the boat run from MK to WL after evening EMH? If so, then do it!!!! How much to upgrade for the whole time??? ;)

Personally, the quicker bus ride wouldn't be worth that amount of money to me. Especially if most of that day is going to be spent in a park and not at the resort. But, if money isn't a huge issue and the convinence would be better for your family, just do it. (read: enabling) :lmao:

If I wanted to go check out GF after leaving MK, would I just jump on a monorail to GF and then back on the same monorail to the MK to get a bus to my resort?

Would the TTC be involved in that plan at all? I'm slightly confused about the monorail/TTC/transportation around MK

You do not have to switch trains unless you're going to Epcot. MK and GF are on the same train. I believe the order is MK, Contemporary, TTC, Poly and GF.

Regarding the package shipping discussion: this was just posted on the shipping thread:

I shipped a box UPS to AoA on Tuesday and was advised it should arrive on Friday 10/5. We're checking in Tuesday 10/9. Just wanted to ensure no impact from weekend and Columbus Day! From PA to FL it cost 26.00 for a 26lb box. It was 17x17x17 size box. I got them to print out another label from AoA back to home address (which cost another $1.00 more) so for @ 50.00 I get the convenience minus the worries of dealing with the airlines. Well worth it. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I didn't know there was a shipping thread. I think we will most like bring a duffle bag with us and use it as a carry-on so we don't have to pay the extra $25 on the way back. Just need to make sure the measurements fit within the guidelines.

Ok we can see who the practical ones are on this thread. LOL

I love the way you think!

You all are right. The money is what get's me. I know this deep down inside :) which is why I haven't done it yet. Part of me just wishes we would have just booked the whole trip at WL, but we were trying to save a little money which is why we did the split stay. It is best for me to pretend that they are completely booked and I have no choice anyway.

I recently found the Pandora station with nothing but Disney movie soundtracks. It's awesome, my kids love to name the movie in which that particular song came out in. It's so neat that my DS 11 is into Disney songs and will even song to the girl ones.. LOL

I would say if you really want to upgrade, then consider upgrading the whole trip and skip the hassle of a split stay. If the whole time you're at POFQ you're thinking about WL, you won't enjoy it. But if you decide you truly can't afford to do the whole trip at WL then you can enjoy POFQ knowing that's the only way you can do three extra days at Disney. :)

I can't wait to ride the monorail again!!! 72 days. :cool1: Well, technically I won't be riding it on arrival day, but close enough.

*goes to schedule to see which day we will be riding the monorail*

Ooo Day 2. So 73 days. :thumbsup2

I have never ridden the monorail. :(

DH and DSis rode it while I was on nap duty (bus to ASMu) once. It has been on my plan every trip but we never made it. This year we'll probably ride several times to get from BWV to the MK resorts (thru Epcot).
