Yeah for the extra party.... :( for your mom. On the upside most of the time the surgery is very quickly recovered from. Laparoscopic, in most cases. Isn't it amazing what they can do nowadays? I know I'm waiting for the Dr McCoy Star Trek wand for my first colonoscopy :)

I had my gallbladder taken out laparoscopically two and a half years ago. It was a very simple procedure and it didn't take very long to heal from it! When remembering those pains I used to have before the surgery, I can honestly say surgery was the best thing I did!

So I think I'm feeling that Disney lull too.... I really don't have a strong urge to change ADRs...

So I think after I work out today I'm going to call about getting one PAP so we don't have to do the whole bridging upgrade the moment we get there.... Then we can go get the TiW card and go check in and off to Sanaa! Maybe if I have time I can go after grocery shopping and bridge my ticket to a PAP....

Also still debating La Nouba I am going to talk to DVC about pricing on that as well.... It would be surprise #2 for DH :) also FINALLY got input on the rental car from DH - he debated and debated and his cheaper side won - going for the Full Size from enterprise! I need to go and cancel all my extra car rentals as well....

It's so gloomy out - heavy cloud cover and no wind yet... Stay safe everyone!

Ok question for the group who has travelled with potty training kids.... My daughter is completely potty trained. Except she is terrified of public bathrooms. When we go out I try to get her to use them but we always end up using our little "potty" which we keep for emergencies.... Any hints or tricks? I'm most concerned for the plane ride/airport....

:off topic: we just passed one of the presidential motorcades! We're in hwy 71 and they're going the opposite way heading towards Cleveland area I think. Glad we're not on that side of the hwy! Police driving in front and back blocking all traffic from getting within the bus/motorcade....must have been 20 black cars within it!

I'll return later with more uninteresting news of our journey back to STL. :lmao:

Here are some ideas! First, find one of those fold up potty seats. They go on top of the big seats to make a smaller hole. My daughter preferred the padded one from one step ahead. The non padded ones were more unstable. Second, carry a pad of post it notes. There are great to put over the sensors so the toilets do not flush and scare your LO. Then just take them off and throw away. Make sure to try these things before leaving to get her used to them. Especially the potty seat, you can use it at home!

Good luck!

We have the potty seat - she used to do fine and one day she just stopped.... She picked out the cars one. Hehe. I am going to try the post it's. I always try when we go out. I was even thinking of making a daily trip to Walmart (not too far away) to see if I can acclimate her more....

OK, here’s the promised schedule. I’d appreciate any thoughts/feedback/suggestions because sissy just HAVING to switch our CP date to the 19th really threw my plans for a loop!

Oh, I’m a whacko commando type, and sissy’s more a meander around and smell the roses type, so planning for both of us is an exercise in balance. Mind you, if it were up to me I’d plan everything down to the last second, cross checking the personalized plans on Touring Plans vs. Ridemax I’m so anal, so for me, this is a very loose plan!!!

December 19th:
Flight arrives around 11:30, pick up rental car, drive to AoA and check in, at Epcot by around 2 pm (hopefully earlier)
2 – 5 pm Tour Future World (TT, Figment, LWTL, Spaceship Earth – we rode Soarin’ ½ a dozen times on our April trip to DL, so it’s not a big deal if we miss it this trip)
5:15 Candlelight Processional ADR – Rose & Crown
(may end up having to run back to Future World after dinner & before getting in line for CP if we FP Test Track)
8:15 CP
9:30 Illuminations

December 20th:
7:30 am at MK Gate for EMH
8 – 11:30 Tour MK (Full out commando to get as much done as possible – makes me happy!)
11:30 – Hop to HS
12:30 50s Prime Time Café ADR
1:30 – 5:00 Tour (Meander Turtle Style – Makes Sissy Happy. Do want to get in Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Lights Motors Action, Indiana Jones, and the Backlot tour if we can fit it in)
5:00 Mama Melrose’s ADR
6 – 8 Tour (inc. seeing Osborne Lights after crowds have dispersed after switch flip)

December 21st:
8 am Tusker House ADR
9 – 11:30 Tour AK (Commando again, for me - Safari, Dinosaur, Kali, Primevil Whirl, maybe the trail with the tigers – Not much in AK that’s a “must do” for us)
12 – 3:30 – DTD (SHOPPING!!!!!) – QS Lunch at Earl of Sandwich if hungry
3:30 – Drive to TTC – Park Car – Monorail to Grand Floridian
Enjoy decorations before 5:15 ADR at Narcoossee’s
7 pm – 12 am – MVMCP!!!!! (Meander for sissy - Fireworks, Late Parade, Rides we missed on the 20th)

December 22nd:
7:30 at HS for EMH
8 – 9:30 am HS (TSMM as many times as we can)
10:00 am Hop to Epcot
10:50 am Akershus ADR (Grab FP for TT on way to restaurant so we can ride it again – it’s sissy’s favorite ride)
12 – 4 pm Tour World Showcase (Mostly try to videotape as many Holiday Storytellers as possible for sissy to use for lesson plans in the future)
4 pm Late Lunch ADR at San Angel Inn
6:30 pm Drive to Ft. Wilderness, maybe try to catch a wagon ride
8:30 pm Hoop de Doo Review

Update on DH

He is on the way home and about an hour and half from 95 in NJ. He's making good time (thanks to no traffic and everyone staying home). Not sure how much longer it will take him but I'll keep everyone updated. Today's his birthday so being stuck out is not on his top wish list.

Glad he is on his way home!! And Happy Birthday to him!!

Ok so now I have phone service and my goal is to get through the next 40 pages before getting to Columbus (we're just at Medina now).....will be happy when we get past all this rain!

Welcome back Kathy!! We missed you, no one has mentioned cupcakes in 3 days!! :confused3

Discookiemonsta--Glad you made it through Sandy ok. :thumbsup2

Yay! Someone else who loves to hop. :)

This is my favorite line---1:30 – 5:00 Tour (Meander Turtle Style – Makes Sissy Happy. Do want to get in Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Lights Motors Action, Indiana Jones, and the Backlot tour if we can fit it in)
I love how you plan to meander while fitting all of these attractions in. :rotfl:

I had outpatient laparoscopic gallbladder removal too. I had it on a Tues, and back to work on Friday.

2nd best medical decision I ever made. We won't talk about the first one in mixed company. :)

Hahaha. I bet the first one is the same one I had ;)

What part scares her? My daughter was scared b/c of the automatic flush, sometimes it would flush with her on it, which terrified her. So I carried a stack of post it notes in my purse and would cover the sensor. Then she could go, get up, get dressed and out before I removed it. Solved our fear. :goodvibes

Your plans look awesome! Not much down time, but I hate having down time on vacation, so I like it. I figure: I can relax whenever I want at home, but when I'm out I only have a few days to take in the sights!

I think it's a combined fear - the noise and feel of a public restroom.... Yesterday it flushed with her on it (this was a first) and it was the end of public potty attempts....

Yup, I drew the short end of the straw this year. Although I will have off the first 17 days in December, 13 of which will be in WDW. And, I don't have to work another holiday until 2014.

Life could be worse. :)

My lab is closed on weekends/holidays but hubby's is open 24/7. He works a major and minor holiday every year and has Christmas this year too :(

We get two holidays off a year - thanksgiving and xmas. However last year my husband was the only one to answer alarm calls on Xmas day- 50 miles each way and a few trips to meet with PD.... :(

:rotfl: I'm not much of a shopper, but this thread even has me tempted, and I'm more the type to spend too much time on the Budget Board ...

I'm trying to talk dh into detouring to go to the Disney outlet store in Monroe Ohio. I don't think I've convinced him....in fact he just said it would add 3 hours to our trip home (um, no it won't...I have google maps). :lmao: of course my luck the store will have been closed or something. It's ok. I'm about to tell him not to worry because you all have told me about all the great shopping at the Disney store online. :teeth:
