Day 4 and time to head for Animal Kingdom! We got there before opening, and they were already letting people through the gates. We saw the CM's with the terrariums with the spiders, and DD got her picture and autograph of Turk.
We made a beeline to Dinosaur, grabbed a fastpass, and then since the line wasn't long rode it. It was DD's 1st time, and she had made up her mind she would conquer it this time. She did...with her eyes closed!---lol! We then went and rode Primeval Whirl, which wasn't bad, but not as good as I had hoped. The top section is slow and the break system is jerky. The spinning is fun, though, and DD liked it. We got FP's for it when we got off, but DH opted not to ride it again. We then headed back to Dinosaur to use our FP's. This time DD did ride it with her eyes opened, but says that she prefers it with her eyes closed!--
We stopped by Kali River Rapids to pick up a FP for it on the way to Pizzafari to get something to eat. We ate pizza and breadsticks (some breakfast, huh?) and bought the AK meal deal tickets to use for lunch. After eating, we headed back to ride Primeval Whirl again, and DD bought some pins.
Tarzan Rocks was getting ready to start as were heading out of Dinoland, so we stopped in and caught the show! We were in the back, so it wasn't overly loud. The singers were very good, as were the dancers! Tarzan was nice to look at as well, and DH said that Jane wasn't half bad, either! We enjoyed the show!
Kali River Rapids was next on the list, and it was VERY hot, so we were ready for it! We were in line behind some people who were covered head to toe in rain protective gear. The CM's were trying to get them to sit in one place in the raft, but they insisted on another, so we got the spots they were supposed to have. Now, I know that is luck of the spin, but doggone, if they weren't the ones who got totally dumped on! The rest of us got slightly splashed. They looked mighty perturbed that they got wet, in spite of the rain protective gear, and we could only laugh, because if they had done what the CM had wanted, they wouldn't have gotten wet! Oh well!
DD had a hankering for shopping (all girl, she is!!!), so on our way back to Tusker House for lunch, we stopped in all of the shops. I also picked up a cute nightgown for my mom for her birthday.
We ate at Tusker House, and found the food to be very delicious! The air condition was welcome, as well. I had the Chicken Salad with Balsalmic Vinegarette, which was very good, DH had the routisserie chicken-- tender and juicy and DD had the mac and cheese, which was good, as well! We felt that the meal deal tickets were of great value, and would definitely do that again!
After lunch the African dancers/ acrobats were performing over by the Dawa Bar, so we got seats there, DD got to do the limbo contest, and DH and I enjoyed a very tasty Rum Runner. DD also discovered the showers so she could finally get wet! While sitting at Dawa, DH brought up possibly trying to extend our stay by another night and not leaving until Friday, instead of Thursday. As we had Friday off anyway, we decided if we could get a good rate at the hotel, we would do it. We then headed back to the hotel to see what could be done, and happy hour!
At the hotel, I talked with the front desk and they were able to offer me Thursday night at the same fantastic rate, so our decision was made! We celebrated in the Tipsy Parrot Lounge, and DD got to visit her friend the parrot again!
After happy hour, we went over to Epcot. We ate at the Matsu Ma Lounge, with no wait at all (they don't take PS). The food was very good, and we had a window seat, so we could see the Tapestry of Dreams parade going by. We finished and went out on the balcony to watch Illuminations, which was quite impressive!
After Illuminations, we headed back to the resort for some rest, before starting our bonus day!
