.. you get

(a) a crummy room because all the good ones were already taken
(b) a great room because all the cheap rooms are taken and they have to give you an upgrade
(c) no room at all because they overbooked, and there are no rooms left. Really, no ****, nada, nothing, zilch.

No animals at midnight! Perhaps you didn't tip them enough.
