Packing Cube Questions

Does anyone know any retail stores that I could buy packing cubes? I am traveling next week and waited too long to order them.

Also, for those packing fanatics...I would think perfectly folded shirts all folded the same exact size would also get you pretty excited.

I made one of these t-shirt folding machines last week and love it. (Actually, I made one for my young daughters' shirts and one for the adults.) I bought a cardboard box for $1.27 and had enough to make 2.

That video was great!!! I'll have to try it on our next trip... then on the cruise!

You don't need a folding board, we use this method. :thumbsup2

Wow, if you look around, there are a TON of videos on YouTube showing how to pack lightly utilizing several methods: cubes, bundle, etc. Quite informative.

Note to my roommate for our April concierge cruise: Let's see if I can do it! I've not been known to be the best packer. But I sure am going to try!!

I need to seriously get a life.
6:30 on a Holiday Monday morning and I am trying out different ways to fold a t-shirt.
So sad.......

Ha ha - and I spent HOURS watching videos on YouTube yesterday evening.

Seriously, even though I was joking to my friend (and cabin-mate) - it is amazing to see some of the things that can be accomplished with "intelligent" packing.

I suspect I can bring as much as I did last time and cut out a whole huge duffel. (I used a large suitcase, a very large unstructured duffel AND a carry-on). I didn't over pack as I used everything - it's just that I didn't know how to pack efficiently. I'll be thrilled if I can get all that I need into far less luggage to lug around!

i've been reading a bit in this thread and was getting really excited by the things i coould do with packing cubes but when i went to ebags i found they only ship to the us. :guilty:

I would imagine that packing cubes are an international item. Hopefully there is a retailer like e-bags in your country.

Heys makes packing cubes as well. Their products are often available through The Shopping Channel in Canada.

Well, I finished ironing my clothes for vacation this weekend while my dh and ds were at a baseball tournament.

For me, I packed, in one large cube:

10 pair of Pants (this includes 2 pj pants, 1 shorts)
15 shirts (including 2 pj tops)
10 Underwear
2 Bathing Suits
1 Cover Up

I don't know if I can fit this much in for my dh, who is much bigger than I am. I guess it depends on how big your clothes are. I did not roll, since I am not a fan of rolling. I travel often and iron all my clothes, even pjs, and this makes them flat. I fold and don't have any wrinkles, even when I pack 2 weeks in advance. I did roll my socks and underwear, not my clothes.

My mother (karensi) will be ordering this week. i like the medium and small but think if I ordered again, I would just order large and medium. I don't need the small (although I used for other things I am bringing) and really don't need the tubes (that came with the sm, med. and lg).

I am waiting for my second order that I ordered with the code and will use for my ds. My dd likes to pack herself (17) and will not use the cubes and think my dh 2X won't fit all his clothes, but maybe 2 larges..not sure.

Happy Packing!

i actually have a set bought this exact same way but it was VERY expensive and as i want to get more after seeing the ideas listed here it would be much better if i could find them cheaper elsewhere. ebags was pretty cheap and offered free shipping, of course not to canada. if they would ship here then i would do it and still save tons of money. oh well, i'll find something else.

thanks for all the ideas on this thread. :worship:

If you can - search YouTube. There were some amazing videos on "bundling". There were many that did not use cubes, but still managed to pack an incredible amount in a small container!

I started with a search on "packing cubes" and from there looked at the videos on the side. That led me to over an hour's worth of watching all kinds of videos teaching how to fold, roll, bundle, and maximize space.
