Packing Cube Questions

I just ordered my first set of packing cubes but after reading this thread I am convinced I "NEED" more sets. (I am a bag person also).

BTW, if it is helpful, there is a code CATASUMM11 that will give you 20% off and free shipping with NO MINIMUM on ebags.

Thanks for the discount code! The free shipping was only for $100 or more on the website, so you saved me $10 (besides the 20% off). I got two of the garment folders.

Goodness. Now should I buy another set???
I just purchased one set last week. Now should I get another?
My dh just told me no more credit cards since he wants paid before we go away but how can I say no to this :lmao:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I just used the code and saved a total of $16.75.

Anal Annie, NO MORE VISUALS!!! LOL

Thank you all very much.

I now have 2 sets for our family of 4 and will see what I need for the future.

They will come when my dh and ds are away this weekend for a baseball tournament so I won't have to deal with my dh being upset about the credit card until he gets the statement

Thanks all!!

:rotfl2: Can I just say that I predict you'll be sneaking more into the house after you use what you got!? :rotfl:

I've have several old style (mesh) Eagle Creek folders. I'm guessing 15" as I can put about 7 or 8 shirts in them. Are you folks saying that I could pack a BLAZER in one? I've always taken a garment bag because I figured that folding a blazer (or a suit) into something that small would just wrinkle it to no end.

Am I wrong? Could I even pack a 2 pc suit in a folder?

Yes, indeed - pack a suit in a folder and it should come through just fine. I packed a suit in one folder and a tux in another.

A trick to prevent wrinkles is to wrap the items in a plastic drycleaning bag. Wrinkles are caused by fabric rubbing against other fabric. Consequently, I only had a few small wrinkles in the coat sleeves, which hung out in a day or so. Next time I'll put plastic (or even the tissue paper that comes in new shirts) around the sleeves, which should solve the problem.

On the other hand, if you're just taking a blazer, you could always wear it instead of packing it. I've done that a few times, though I usually try to pack it.

THANK YOU. . .I used the codes and purchased 2 sets, 1 set of the slims and 1 cosmetic bag. . .can't wait to try them out after reading all the great posts. (Plus free returns so if for some reason they don't work out for me. . .)

OMG, I received my cubes today. I bought the 3 pc set for each of us. Plus a set of mediums and the flat packing toiletry kit.

Love the toiletry kit, BUT the cubes are tiny :( I will try to pack in them and see what fits in them. Are you suppose to roll your clothes in them or fold them or does it matter. I may return my 3 mediums for 3 large, tomorrow the sleeve comes. My DD packed enough undergarment and sock in the small one, it did fit a lot. We will see, I may trial run it this weekend if I get a chance.

Go back to page 1 & look at my pics again. Those were the large ones + 1 small. YES, fold face down & roll lengthwise (as if you were folding a shirt to put on a shelf) but then roll them up rather than folding in half - they will hold a lot if you practice just a little bit and the stuff doesn't wrinkle badly!! You can usually get 2 layers of clothes if it's lightweight summer stuff. Obviously winter clothes are heavier & bulkier & take up 3x as much room. But for THIS trip you can work it out!! I get at least a dozen of my tops & 6 or 7 bottoms (shorts or whatever) in each large this way. You ordered a 3 piece set of sm, med & lg for each person? I really like the larges but KEEP the mediums - maybe add 1 more large for each person. The mediums serve a purpose too. Like I said, we have several sets of each size. I used mediums in our new itty bitty carry-on this past weekend (one for me & one for DH).:thumbsup2 Definitely don't give up until you "play" with them a little bit!!:thumbsup2

Oh no, I won't give up. I remember reading someone said they felt the same way when they first saw them. Thanks Annie for your folding advice :thumbsup2

Thank you all for feeding my bag habit :rotfl: Just purchased 4 sets in 4 different colors for the family. Often we share suitcases and I HATE it. Kids and DH just flip through with no regard for any organization. I had tried zip locks but that was not helping much since everyones zip lock looks alike. Now I just have to train them to what color to use

Wow! Thanks for the visuals, Annie. These seem like a great investment.

Thanks for this thread. I was on the fence about these, but went to the ebags site and they were on sale for 22.00 for a set and free shipping. And shoot..I forgot the code and didn't try that :(

OK So tonight I took 2 pair of capris and rolled them up and put them in a large cube, I definitely can get at least 7 pair in easily and then some. Love them.

WHEW!!! :scared: I was sweatin' bullets waiting to hear how you liked them! :rotfl:

I can't say enough how much I love ours. I just packed tonight for a one-night get-a-way this weekend. We're going to a friends Chesapeake Bay house for Saturday night / Sunday. They are expecting about 40 people to crash in their "bonus room" on air mattresses. (YES, it will be a snore fest!:lmao:) I packed 2 blankets, a set of twin sheets & a set of king sheets + all of our clothes in one 26" duffle. One medium cube for each of us right in the top of the bag with bathing suits, PJ's & a change of clothes! :thumbsup2 Since they have little handles it makes it super easy to just grab your own cube to go to the bathroom to change - it's like your own personal suitcase.:goodvibes

Annie, I never thought of that. You can grab your cube and take it right in the bathroom with you.
I remembered somewhere in this post that someone wrote they had the same feeling I had when they opened the box and saw the cubes. I showed my husband yesterday when I put the pants in the cubes, he said WOW I can't believe how much can fit in that little thing LOL He's a believer

I am going to have to show this thread to my wife. Sounds like a much better way to pack

Does anyone know any retail stores that I could buy packing cubes? I am traveling next week and waited too long to order them.

Also, for those packing fanatics...I would think perfectly folded shirts all folded the same exact size would also get you pretty excited.

I made one of these t-shirt folding machines last week and love it. (Actually, I made one for my young daughters' shirts and one for the adults.) I bought a cardboard box for $1.27 and had enough to make 2.
