HI everyone

I thought some people would enjoy this! :teeth: :rolleyes1

Yes, parenthood changes everything. But parenthood also changes with each baby. Here, some of the ways having a second and third child differs from having your first:

Your Clothes -

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.

2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.

3rd baby: Your maternity clothes are your regular clothes.

The Baby's Name -

1st baby: You pore over baby-name books and practice pronouncing and writing combinations of all your favorites.

2nd baby: Someone has to name their kid after your great-aunt Mavis, right? It might as well be you.

3rd baby: You open a name book, close your eyes, and see where your finger falls. Bimaldo? Perfect!

Preparing for the Birth -

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.

2nd baby: You don't bother practicing because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.

3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your 8th month.

The Layette -

1st baby: You prewash your newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.

2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.

3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?

Worries -

1st baby: At the first sign of distress - a whimper, a frown - you pick up the baby.

2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.

3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

Activities -

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.

2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.

3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.

Going Out -

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home 5 times.

2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.

3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.

At Home -

1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.

2nd baby: You spend a bit of every day watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.

3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

OH mary those are great!

I wanna add one to the baby story though:

Soothers:
It falls on the floor:
1st child you boil it for 5 minutes
2nd child you run it under hot water
3rd child you pick off the lint and stick it in your own mouth before giving it back to baby

you are going to end up in that pot!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'll be on your side Kelly. You can sit with Kim and I, our dog Roxie, and our 2 cats.

Wow what a weekend! The weather is great today, but I might need help smacking some sense into hubby. Anyone want to help?

...oh dudes, I missed you!!! I checked a bunch for a while....but only have one of you 4 above on my buddy list...Mary....so I didnt know she was talking to anyone esle....and pitiful me didnt know how to invite Mary to a room to chat! .....later on, I must have missed you all together.

Hope you guys had fun - we'll do it again!

I was on most of Saturday night, from 6 - 11:30 but only Ronnie and then Kelly. *sigh*

Last night aobut the same too, thoug I gave up about 9:30. Good thinkg since Jeff had a raging fever from about 2 am on. Finally got him to take something for it. All he wanted was water. so a day home today and probably tomorrow. Lets hope the rest of us miss it!

Boy, that's good advice - would you yell at me and tell me that tonight if you see me online?? I've got to get going - I swore I would do them before Arpril 15th this year!!

Me too. Please yell at me about the taxes. Teresa tried, but I still haven't done last years (or any since 2002!). It not that I don't need the money, they owe us, just depression and the blahs haven't helped me to much!:rolleyes1

and I think it would be easier if it WAS my taxes....I have to do my mom's, brothers, sisters, and cousins today. And your still sure you don't want me to send you mine to do?

where is Kat....I need a super hero smilie... At your request....

I keep telling my DH that we should go to Baltimore.... Hmmm... maybe a mini meet? I have never been there and taking the kid smight be good! Then Bears DH could meet some of us limers and kow we aren't all out to get is kids corrupted!!

So how about a Batlimore meet soon?:woohoo:

there will be NO more of that baby talk....we got a tv instead :teeth:

Sounds like the old Art Linkletter show where he asked people questions to see what they say. I think it was "People say the darnest things"?

anyway he asked a lady about her kids ages and she said "1, 2, 4 & 5" Art asked her what happened to 3 and she said "Oh, that was the year we got the televison set!":rotfl2:

Someone stole it out of his car. We finally figured out that is happened at his work. Tomorrow he is going in to have them look at the security cameras. Hopefully they can tell who it is, and we can press charges...maybe recoup some of the money.

talking about me:sad2: :sad2: right in front of me:sad2: not even behind my back:sad2:

and I have no idea why I am not on your buddy list.....ADD ME!!!!!

I probalby said this already. Don't I always repeat myself?!

Anyway, you can add the AIM icon to your name thing at the left. Just update yourself (profile?). Then all anyone has to do is click on the icon and add the buddy to your list.

Sorry about the stuff in the car. I just hate to suspect people but I do catch myself watching kids and teen males hanging in a group in a place that looks suspicious.:sad2:

I can put up with the creepy cat if you will have a baby!

Hmmm... is PD having the baby blues? Maybe, since her kids aren't old enough to consider starting, she should have another one, or get a puppy, to help out with the longings of having someone else have a baby for her.:lmao:

don't you still have a sib young enough to have one for you?:confused3

Are any Limeys out there Scrapbookers?? If so, are any of you going to the Memories Expo in NJ (April) or Orlando (Nov) ??

I'm going to the NJ one with a friend and her Mom.

Went 2 years ago and dragged poor DS. He is such a good sport when it comes to MoM.. But he had fun, even if he "says" he didn't. Heck he did some better work then I did.

I would love to learn or attempt, but no time. That does sound like fun though! Right now, all my pictures are in a big plastic bin under Krista's bed.:headache:

Hi Kat! Hope Jeff is feeling better & no one else catches anything. A Baltimore meet would be great-- especially for me :teeth: ! Just not sure when I will be available. :(

As far as PD having a younger sibling that could have a baby for her-- wouldn't that be Nsalz?!!?!? :rolleyes1

Oh, and

GET YOUR TAXES DONE WOMAN!!!!

I made your's louder than VA's cuz you have more to do!!!!! If you're not gonna do them then by all means go get them done! You need the money , you got Disney planning to do! ;) :goodvibes

:lmao: :lmao: I think my hubby is more interested than the kids.

And why would that be...? Cause he is a GUY!!! and never, ever let them see if they can light a fart!!! The hospital bill, let alone the embarrassment, caa be quite humilating:lmao:
