Our Next Vacation Dollars will be spent at…

Just got back from a fab trip to Cape Cod, which is about an hour away from where we all are & discovered that a nice perk of not flying is having more flexibility to indulge in really nice restaurants and feeling no angst over Chilean Sea Bass or absurdly overpriced wine at a vineyard, "Would I like a ridiculously overpriced hoodie with your logo? Yes ,please!" Our next vacation dollars will be spent indulging with Gordon Ramsey's Beef Beef Wellington and the meal might run a night's lodging, but we don't need to pay lodging soooo it's on. Tinkering with the idea of Rhode Island, it's lovely and an hour away.

We are scheduled to do WDW at the end of the year but I am very wary of planes and waiting to see how people review how well the medical community manages travelers over the next few months. What I am looking for is stories about how conscientious airline X, airport x, hotel x is being and info about how easily care was accessed when mom/dad/son/daughter/grandma etc suddenly needed help. However, I am seeing no such stories and this gives me pause. I know it's happening because every stinking trip I took my kids on ended with an ear infection or strep so I expect a flurry so I'm stalled until I see signs of life.

no big trip this summer. I'm working extra to pay some college expenses for the kids. plus, the gas prices!!!! I've notice hotel prices going up too. We will likely still travel somewhere without a 4-6 hours for a few days...Just hubby and me sounds wonderful.

With inflation at a 40-year high and the national average price for a gallon of gasoline about to crack the $5/gallon mark, we're having so-called "staycations".

Big trip for 2022 will be Hawaii; Oahu and Kauai. 2023 will depend on airfare, but probably back to Hawaii, Barbados or Jamaica.

WDW Saturday split between BLT and BWV for almost two weeks for 40th Anniversary. Scored two reservations at Le Cellier. Paul McCartney concert 5/28! Epic!

I will say and I have asked this before out of all the posts in this thread I think 1 person mentioned an amusement park. Outside of Disney and Universal, it feels like people don't enjoy amusement parks

I enjoy amusement parks, but personally I wouldn't want to spend my vacation time going to regional parks especially ones not near me. Like if I lived closer to Cedar Point I would go but there are other places I would rather vacation to than Ohio. I do have relatives that live close to Efteling, so when I visit them again I'll try to go there. It looks amazing.

We used to do lots of parks, Hershey and Dorney are really very nice but I don't have little kids in my family these days so we're no longer into alternatives without the whole experience of shows, dining, fireworks and parades. Now IF parks in the North East morphed into more of the whole experience I'd totally go, but as far as I know WDW is one of a kind with the whole thing.

We are headed to the Outer Banks tomorrow. Wright Bros National Memorial will be our first stop!

Hawaii. Then in November Universal FLorida. I asked DH is he wanted to pop over to Disney too and he said NO! then hopefully italy in december.

I like them but only plan to visit Universal and hopefully will get to check out Kennywood and Busch Gardens Williamsburg someday. I also expect to revisit SeaWorld at some point. Efteling looks nice but I don't know if I will ever travel this far again.

We did Mackinac Island in October 2020. It was wonderful. Try the fudge.
Right now I’m in Florida visiting my cousin and his wife. Today at the beach I met a man who was originally from Michigan. I was telling him about my planned trip to Mackinac this fall, and he said the locals call the tourists “fudgies.” For some reason that really amused me.

And I will definitely be trying the fudge!

I like theme parks, not amusement parks. Outside of Disney and Universal I've only been to a couple Six Flags and they were kind of terrible in comparison.
