Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

How strict are the 6 person limits at the cabanas? We have a family group with a total of 9 people. I know there is only seating for 6 and I'm assuming 6 dedicated wrist bands, but can the other 3 still hang out without problems in the cabana?
When we went in 2022 there were 10 of us (6 adults, 4 children) and I originally rented two cabanas. When we got to check in at the cabana the girl told us we just needed one, as long as no one else was joining us, and she refunded the money for the second one. I know this isn't guaranteed for everyone and we may have just got lucky but I would ask when you check in at the cabana. You don't have to say anything to the CM's at the pool check in area because there is a separate podium by the cabanas for check in for them.

Maybe some other people will check in with their experience.

We had two rooms at YC with 6 disney adults and 3 kids under 9 and there was no problem. The CM actually called my room prior to confirm how many wristbands we needed and I told them we had 4adults 3 teens and 3 kids under 9 and was told only the adults were really counted. Once we got to the cabana the CM put a wristband on all 9 of us with no issues. They probably assume anyway that most kids will be in the pool the whole time which is a valid assumption at SAB because there is only seating for 6.

My husband and I I just checked into the Beach Club. We haven’t stayed here for a few years, been staying at the Boardwalk. We love our resort view room. We got a full balcony and a king bed, I did not request either one. The room is spacious and really pretty.

Beautiful! Have a great trip

So, I saw here: https://www.****************/the-hidden-cost-of-disney-shopping-just-got-a-lot-more-expensive-ab1/

That Disney HUGELY jacked their shipping costs. The Yacht club convention center still has a "business center" where you can ship from. Does it follow the same pricing scheme as the shops in the parks, or is it more like a "UPS store" where they charge you on the weight and size of the box?

Also looks like the Boardwalk business center is gone? Anyone know when and if it closed?

Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center:
I haven't shipped from the Yacht & Beach Club convention center in several years. When I did, it felt like the UPS store. They provided the box, packed my stuff, and shipped the box. I think the price was based on box size and weight, but I don't remember.

BoardWalk Convention Center:
The Disney page for Business Centers no longer lists Boardwalk.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/business-centers/

That Disney page for Business Centers says you can send and receive packages. It lists pricing, but does not show flat rate pricing for shipping out, so my best guess would be that it's based on the box size and weight.

What has everyone's luck been with a resort view at Beach Club? Can I request a specific view (so that I'm not looking at like the parking lot or another roof) or is it simply luck of the draw?

This helps answer my question above lol that's an awesome view

This was our resort view in December. We didn't put in any requests so got lucky with this one, usually when we don't put in a request we're put in rooms that overlook the parking lot/bus stop. When we have requested rooms to get a specific view we've gotten the request probably 50% of the time. Often when we don't get the requested room, they put us in the same area/wing, just on the other side of the hall. PXL_20251206_171850896.jpg

Hopefully I'll luck out! BC is a buck list item for me.

Of course you can make a room request. Resort view is the previous standard & garden view categories combined, so that includes a lot of rooms & views. Disney does try to honor room requests, but there is never a guarantee so it is also luck of the draw. Many people think you have a better chance if you make the room location your only request, since the room assigners know that is the most important thing to you.

We were at YC the 23-29 last week, and had another amazing stay. I love the resort. Just such a laid back atmosphere. We paid the extra for water view (as we did last time), and so glad we did.

I requested fourth floor with a boardwalk view as I like looking over there. We didn’t get the boardwalk view this time, but it was towards Epcot and we ended up liking that better anyway. The ball lit up at night while enjoying the balcony with the fireworks was amazing. Our view also had the lighthouse and view of the beach over at beach club. It was close to the walkway down below, but we heard hardly no noise from the people down there.

We were a few doors down from the other single elevator, and that was such a perfect spot. That elevator doesn’t get as much use. I think we were only in there with someone twice, and the door right there drops you right on the boardwalk. Makes it closer to walk to Epcot and Hollywood as well as the boats if you desire that. I would maybe request to be close to that elevator again.

Room updates were nice. Thought I’d miss the old curtains but these ones seemed to brighten up the room a bit. I like that there’s plenty of storage so nothing is sitting out for the week. The shower was amazing as always. I like turning both the upper head and handheld one on to just get some hot water to relax the back after a long day.

We never tried hurricane hannahs or the market food before. We did both this time and enjoyed them both. Limited menus, but the food was good. Both times we ate in the little area by Hannah’s and thought that was a great spot.

We stayed at pop for two nights when we knew we would be in the parks all day just to save a little. It’s so night and day. Loud and chaotic at the values. Even having stormalong bay and sitting out near it isn’t nearly as loud as the values. And while the shower heads looked the same, you couldn’t have both on at the same time and it was a lot less pressure. No lotion, no liquid hand soap, had to use the hack to get the air below 68 (never have to at yacht club). I can do values for a couple days, but could never stay less than moderate for a week.

My only downfall this trip was I didn’t know the admiral pool was going to be closed. I knew beach clubs was, but not sure how I missed admiral. We enjoy going over there to do laundry and relax by the pool or in the hot tub with very few people. Not that it broke our trip, but that was just a little something that I wasn’t expecting. Funny we didn’t even get in the pool. Our check in day and one day later in the week we took resort days, but just enjoyed our balcony and sitting around the resort.

It’s so much more to stay deluxe. However, if you make sure to add some time to be there and enjoy it it’s so worth it! Even the park days we tried to come back in the afternoon or head out later.

Stayed at All Star Movies once and it was a one and done. I had a hard time justifying what we paid for what felt like a Days Inn with Disney characters everywhere. Spoiled I know lol but I am a deluxe or Destino Tower person.

Looks like the same room we just had!

Construction Walls Surround Pool at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Construction walls surround the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) pool at Disney's Beach Club Resort.

The walls extend out to the walking path by the sand area and Crescent Lake.

Several signs line the white walls, with quotes like “I can never stand still. I must explore and experiment,” and “Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, and work at it until it’s done, and done right.” There is also a poster for PPE requirements at construction sites. It features Mickey in a construction crew safety vest, hard hat, and boots.

The Tidal leisure pool is closed through early May 2026.
Scaffolding in the pool area can be seen from the walking path. The Tidal leisure pool is closed through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area until the work is complete. Most dining and resort amenities will remain available.

Various other signs let guests know that these areas are closed, including restrooms and the pool itself. The entire Beach Club exterior maintenance project is scheduled to wrap up in late 2026.

Par for the course for that website, that’s the BC quiet pool, or at least that’s what it looks like from the pictures. The BCV pool doesn’t front onto the lake, it’s on the other side, by the main driveway and parking lot.
I didn’t even notice it said DVC! I corrected it here. The weird part is they actually have written, within the article, that it’s the Tidal pool!!! I guess they just assumed that, because it’s a smaller pool, that it belongs to DVC?! lol
