Our last day was exactly 3 weeks ago. Its hard to believe its
nuthin' but a memory now. I'm finally ok with that. I did have park withdrawal ,but I'm over it. Life goes on!
Thursday, July 8th our last day.
I think this is the first vacation we were actually looking forward to going home. We know that 2 weeks is definitely long enough for us! We miss our dogs and I'm really missin' dog training. This was starting to become evident when I started to praise Karen with a "very good" after everything she did. She really only got mad that one time at Epcot when I told her to heel. I can't repeat here what she said to me,but I can tell ya my dogs would nevah say that to me!! Yup. Time to get back home, Loretta. Ya mama's waitin' for ya and I luv that sweatah....
We get up kinda early so we can gas up the rental car, finish shopping and maybe go to MGM or Epcot one more time. Karen still needed to pack. I never unpacked,so I'm good t' go!
We head down to Tubbies for coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts.
There so much better than Dunkin' Donuts. We walk around the Dolphin a little bit. We both liked this hotel for the location and the fact that we could buy food & drink 24/7. Ya can't beat that!We didn't like the conventioneers so much. We both agreed that our next trip would be spent at AKL. ( did Karen say "next trip"??)
I hafta say drivin' around WDW is wicked easy! I really don't understand how anyone could get lost. There are freekin' signs everywhere!!!! We hopped in the cah and found a gas station right around the cornah. Filled the tank and we were off like a herd of turtles!!
We decided to go back to DTD and --what else!--- SHOP! I hate to shop. (What I really want to do is put Karen in an out of sight sit/stay but I know she'd neveh go for that. I need to get back to training dogs......)
Finally,we're done buying things for people . We still have to pack it and haul it home. Yup. My Disney magic is gone!
We end up at Epcot for the afternoon which is fine with us. We both really like this park. We decide to go thru the countries one more time and then head back to the pool. The boats really make it convenient to go from resort to Epcot and MGM. Even though they're not very fast. On our way back to the Dolphin we make the usual stop at Boardwalk and here a woman with three little girls gets on. She decides to PLOP herself next to me,and then cracks a beeh that she has in a paper bag. She starts yackin' a blue streak to me about her life story. Like I care! I'm not even lookin' at her and she's talkin' to the side of my head!!!!
I look over at Karen and she's just glad this chick is sittin' next to me and not her. She goes on to tell me she's staying at the Dolphin for the Mortgage & Loan convention. (surprise surprise...)
She brought her 2 kids and a neighbor's kid to hang at the pool while she was at the seminar. Lemme tell ya,these kids were all 10 and under. Up until this point,I've been good. I say nuthin'. When this bozo-lady tells me her plan,I unleash my thoughts.
I say to her,"so you're gonna leave your kids at the pool alone while you go suck down a few too many brews? Isn't that nice."
Meanwhile,I can feel Karen's knee pushin' into mine. Her way of sayin' "mind your own business." Its too late. Bozo-lady is a skank mutha and I want her to know I don't approve and now she does!! Believe me,she moved as soon as she saw an empty seat.
We get back to the Dolphin and decide we'd go hang at the peeool for awhile and then go to MGM for our last night. The pool is pretty packed with conventioneers but we find chairs with no problem. Up until now,the pool has been great. but today there is so much smoking that the air stinks!! And lots of drinking. I look around, and there she is----- skank mutha!! And she is loaded. I watched her for awhile. It was pretty sad. She would walk up to people and start a conversation and within 10 minutes they were gone. I watched her kids looking for her because everytime they got out of the pool she was in a different spot. She never once watched these little girls. You know there's a God when little ones survive parents like this one.
We leave the pool and get ready for our last night of vacay. We're not sad, though. We're soooo ready to get back to reality.
I love MGM at night. Its the lights I think. We had a great time. We went on the Movie ride, which is one of my favorites, caught a couple of street acts and said buh-bye to MGM!!!
We get back to the Dolphin and the lobby is jammed with conventioneers. Yup. We are sooo ready to go home.....
This vacation really was the balls!!! On the flight home,Karen and I talked about all we did. She told me how impressed she was with my planning. She had no idea that I was busy planning this vacation for 18 months. Now she gets it. Its all about the DIS!
She's actually talkin' about our next WDW trip!!
