OT-Prayers for my Nephew

Well, I just got off the phone with Evan's Mom. He is still in PICU. He had a little bump in the road last night...he has started to run a fever and was in a little more pain last night, so please keep the prayers coming. She had to go get one of her other children from school (minor illness), so she missed the doctor rounds this am. As of last night, they were not sure about what was causing the fever/pain. His Mom seems to be doing really well with all of this, but appreaciates eveyone's well wishes. She will keep us informed.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the update, I was checking around this morning to see if there was one.

Prayers continuing for Evan and you and your family.
Thanks for keeping us posted.:grouphug:

Please continue to keep Evan in your prayers.

I talked with my Mom this morning. Evan is not doing any better. At least he is not doing any worse. My sister has asked that they (Our rather large family) not come up to the PICU area because Evan does not want visitors, and she wants to stay with him and not feel like she has to visit with everyone in the waiting area.

At this point in time, it sounds like he will be in the hospital for quite some time, so please, please keep them in yout prayers.

Thanks!

Lynn

Lynn, I will continue to pray for Evan!!!:grouphug: Our daughter spent almost 2 months in the hospital and it was quite an experience that no parent should have to go through!!! I will pray for his parents also, that God gives them the strength that they need to endure this!

Blessings,
Kim

Sorry there isn't any better news. :worried:

Don't worry though...he's young and kids usually bounce back from these types of things a lot faster than adults. :grouphug:

Sorry the news isn't better, Lynn, but I am glad it isn't worse! Evan continues to be in our prayers!!
Hugs to you and your family!

Thanks for the prayers and encouragment everyone!

Unfortunately, they are starting to see the "side effects" of laying in bed still for a week...bed sores, swelling in his lower limbs, they are even starting him on breathing treatments for fear of pneumonia settling in.

I will continue to pray and trust in the Lord...

Lynn

Evan and the whole family sound like real fighters. Keep it up little guy!!!! You can do it!!!

I don't have any children of my own but my neices and nephews mean the WORLD to me. I will keep you close in prayer. What a difficult thing to be going through.

Keep your chin up and thanks for the updates.

God bless all of you:angel:

May God send his healing strength to watch over and care for Evan. Thanks for the updates. How wonderful that so many people care about Evan.

Good morning folks!

I am bumping this up in hopes for more prayers for Evan...he can use them!

I talked with his mom late afternoon. No changes, but I am starting to get more details from her. (I try to let her talk about what she wants to talk about, because I know that she is somewhat overwhelmed and does not want to discuss his situation too much) It appears that a very large hematoma (SP?) developed when this happenned. She said that they showed her the CAT scan, and it pretty much takes up his whole belly. Basically it is compressing all of his internal organs. They are all still functioning, but one of the things that adds to his pain. She said that they are not sure that the laceration has stopped bleeding, as his blood counts had dropped a little again. She seems to be getting a little frustrated with the doctor situation there at the hospital (they are in New Orleans, where virtually every hospital there right now is a teaching hospital...nothing against that...she just seems to be getting some conflicting info from the different interns and residents that are seeing him). She is lucky that one of the night nurses there knows our family (our Mom taught her and is currently teaching her daughter), so she is keeping a watchful eye on the situation and trying to help them understand all that is going on...

Oh, by the way, someone asked Evan where he wanted to go when he got out of there (as they thought he would deserve a trip somewhere and could probably get his parents to bring him ANYWHERE). He said he wanted to go to DISNEYWORLD again!! (He went for his first trip last February).:goodvibes

Continue prayers for Evan and his family, This just has to be so heartbreaking for them.
