Poor Evan. I hope things make that quick turn for the better today, Lynn. Oh - be sure to tell Evan that his favorite has to go with them for that trip! Maybe they can go with you in June!
Have been keeping Even in my prayers. Thanks for the updates. I hope and pray that he gets better real soon and can start planning his next trip to Disney!
Just found this thread...my eyes are tearing up. Prayers and hugs are coming your way and especilly to Evan. May he be blessed with strength and God's love especially
Continued prayers for Evan and all of the family. Thanks for keeping us posted. I check here a few times a day. I think of him often. I have added him to our church prayer list. Remember....THERE'S POWER IN PRAYER.
They are back in a regular room. He is even eating...and his system is even processing it...slowly but surely! My sister said that they even had the full array of therapist come through the room yesterday...occupational, physical and respiratory...which is a good thing...it means that they are wanting him to move now! (as oppossed to staying still) It seems that the attending doc that has been taking care of him does not have a good bedside manner and is the one that has been giving what sounds like a lot of conflicting info. My sister said that he walked in the room and said "oh you should have him walking tonight"...when he left, even the nurse said..."we will pretend that we did not hear that"...this is of course after he had seen the OT PT & RT...I mean the kid has been laying still and not moving and on morphine for 9 days what the heck?! Anyway, the family seems much more relaxed now that he is in a regular room...if nothing else, they can stay with him in the room 24 hours a day.
I just have to say "THANK YOU!" again to everyone for their prayers and well wishes! It is so nice to know that I belong to such a wonderful, kind and caring community. I have felt very helpless through this situation (as I am 500 miles away from all my family), and sharing with you all, and knowing that all of your prayers have helped so much has been very comforting to me.
I will continue to keep you updated...hopefully he will be out of there and at home in a few weeks!
And I am still working on getting them to WDW with me. They are a family of 5, so they have normally had to stay at POR...I offered to have her daughter ( a senior in high school) stay in the room with me (we will only have 3 in our room this trip), and that way ther rest of the family can stay in a room at POP...they are considering it...of course that is a ssuming Evan will be completely recovered by then...but something to look forward to...I am going to slip in some WDW maps to the package I am sending them today!
