I have been given 4 orchids and know nothing about caring for them. I have been given some basic info, but am a little intimidated after hearing that they need special care and food. They are established plants, and because the person who gave them to me got them from someone else, I'm looking for as much info as I can. I don't know what species they are or if that really makes a difference. I would love to have them bloom and enjoy them.

Don't worry about it. just give it what it needs, and don't kill it with kindness. Keep it away from drafts, pets, kids, and direct sun. Have you seen the wild ones that frow in Hawaii? Just think about what they get in their native land, and do your best to give them those things. BTW, I just had a bloom on one of my Amarillis for the second year in a row. I'm hopeful that my other will eventually bloom too!
