Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

((Thunk, thunk)) Are we ON?

Test two, three, four....

Uma glad you didn't go shopping last night. Scary stuff.

Hubby surprised me with my Valentines Day Flowers a day early. Dozen long steamed roses. Guess he wanted to beat the rush....lucky I was home. I just got him candy and a card. Which I will have to go to bed after him tonight so I can leave them out. He works tomorrow.

My DD wants to make a Valentine for her swimming instructor. It is a teenage boy. I told her she could use one of the left over ones she has but no this one has to be homemade...

My DS (9) is too old for Valentines I guess he hasn't done any. He does have a crush on a girl in class though.

Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey.

Wheat Thins

Mic Check 1, mic check 3, mic check 8.
Mic 8 needs to be plugged in???? Maybe Joe should spring for wireless mics??

Wakey wakey Pie and Cakey

Eastcoasters have been up for hours :)

Yup, and Eastcoasters are the last to go to bed :confused3 Do they sleep?

Oh ya! Valentime's Day! Wups! I'll have to get some LOSER unpicked card for my sweet-tart. And some sorry un-favorable white chocolate hearts and some sad, leftover Poke Man or Scooby Doo Valentimes.

It IS a little off-putting that I almost went shopping there and quite possibly ended my mothering and DISsing career for good! YIPES! :sad1:

So, glad you didnt go shopping UtahMama!!

Hey, WT, did you see bunnys Haiku thread? I've heard that in addition to being a hunky golfer attorney, you are also intelligent and witty. Maybe you could post a little sumpthin.:confused3

Good morning everyone.

Uma-I read about your drama this morning and am glad to see that you were home safe and sound. Scary stuff. Sad too when we can't even go shopping and feel like we will be safe. :sad2:

..hey w.t.!, i forgot to mentioned about the anna g.'s death....your
insights explained it all....so sad. that's why reading this site is so
up-lifting...the girls on the mic...are not only good lil'tweeters, but
they do "mommies" right.

* mother nature...no matter what man can accomplished in a million
years...our children will always need their mommies!

oh...utahm. girl....i'm so sorry.... ..i'm glad you're safe! it
is so sad, for all. :sad2: .....

let's see if i got this right..baby nurse or nursing baby?...he, he,
see what a lack sleep does?

Howdy Dudey(not to be confused with doody, which thankfully I did not wake up to this morning! Although I was ripping sheets off a bed and sprinkling on the baking soda at 1AM) I guess on the plus side I've managed to vacuum the whole house, fold all my laundry and wash everything, including three pairs of "going out" sneakers. Plus I schooled 2 kids this morning. I'm ready for a nap. I also browsed the ****** county school board website...I'm really not loving homeschooling. In fact, I can't stand it. Sometimes it makes me dislike my children. But I just cannot see sending them out there. There is one school in the county that I would send them too. It's in a small town(near us) and it only had like 2 or 3 classes for each grade. Who knew that even exsisted anymore. However, it's nearly impossible to get the school you want. You list all the schools in your zone in order and they assign you a school. Sucks. One of the new elementary schools near us looks like a prision! How could you send your little babies to a prision/school????? A friend of mine teaches 1st grade at another nearby school, but its the luck of the school/class assignment "lottery" that decides the fate of the children. So, untill we ourselves win the "lottery"(which we don't play) then I guess homeschooling is the only option for us. I must press on. It surely will get easier once they know the basics. I hope.

I dont even have the patience to help with homework. But, I would do the same thing if our school wasn't a good one. Ous is brand new this year and only a block away from our house.

We have our Blue and Gold Banquet tonight with scouts and we have to do our Science Fair project. We dont even have any good ideas yet! The 3rd grade only has these DULL subjects for the science fair:

Earth's orbit, moons orbit, earth's axis

Earth's gravitational pull

Suns effect on the earth

How plants and animals survive in a given environment/how the environment effects survival (I'm leaning towards this but still no GOOG ideas yet, anyone?)

Force and mortion

Man, oh man, UtahMama! I'm so sorry this happened in your neck of the woods...sorry it happened at all.

I'm glad you were safe at home when it happened. This kind of thing is .... unnerving.

I'm sad about the whole thing. And mad at the Political turn it's taking!!!! It's on EVERY channel on local TV so we're watching the Tigger Movie instead.

PLEASE interview someone with teeth AND is sober!

Isn't if funny(not funny haha, but funny WTHeck) that they never interview upstanding, sobor, clean, normal people? Everytime something happens around here(often) and they are interviewing people, I'm thinking,"Where the HECK did they FIND these people?" I'm thinking the streets of downtown, park benches and/or under overpasses. :confused3

Hello, folks!

It's a snow day!! I love snow days!!

Tomorrow is Valentime's day. If I were teaching Kindergarten again this year, we would have been reading Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime. I LOVE that book!!! It's the best of the series. Does anyone else appreciate a good Junie B. book? :confused3

Happy Giving Birth Day to ME! Oh Happy Giving Birth Day to Me!

So far I have baked two cakes 9x13 strawberry and 2 9 inch rounds devil's food cake. We went to MickyD's with their two best friends. Now we are making Valetimes for Daddy- who stayed up late to decorate the house with post it notes:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :cutie:

Yet it is Tuesday which means I need to write quizzes (yes procrastination is my middle name). Also I have yet to wrap the birthday gifts... and may have to use blue paper with white snowflakes which would be okay since we got 3 inches of snow last night.

Utah- So glad you are safe. I think the moral of the story is that no one needs anything from PBK. Kidding! I love that place. Never actually spent any money there because I see that it is a whole slippery slope designed to part me from my husbands hard earned money. However! I can help with the Science Fair! I am a former Science Fair Judge! Do you have to pick off a list? I like experiments vs demonstrations (we have all seen the volcano thank you very much).

Bunnysmum- I love the haiku thread! Thank you! Also you need nick name too... I'll give it some thought :scratchin

MommyP- for the homeschooling. Been there. Done that. Needed counseling after. I love the idea of homeschooling. Still do. Oldest manchild is begging to be re-homeschooled. I said "Do you not remember that we BOTH cried every day??" Move to Kansas. We have very nice, clean, new public schools, great teachers and I know a great 4 bdrm priced for a quick sale. Ha ha.
