One Million Dollar Fishing Mistake

I'm sorry,,but that guy is a moron.
If I was ever that, unsmart, I would hope that someone would just kick me in the gonads,,repeatedly,,while chanting, "Did you learn yet ?"

How about that second place was the first winner.

I'm willing to bet EVERY captain visually checks everyone's license for a long time to come..

I think the mate needs to find a new line of work. That will follow him for a very long time.

Ouch! :scared1: That's the way to teach someone a lesson they won't soon forget.

Hubby and I were just talking about that! What a painful lesson.

Definitely!

How about that second place was the first winner.

I'll bet that 2nd place (1st loser), was ecstatic.

I'm willing to bet EVERY captain visually checks everyone's license for a long time to come..

No doubt!

Yeah. Don't reckon' he'll be getting many job offers...

Normally I'm not one for lawsuits. Most of them nowadays are frivolous.

This loser needs to be sued for the $1m. The guy who lost first place may never see the money, or at least not all of it. This is a horrible case of neglect of responsibility (getting the known required license) at best and, at worst, a case of theft by deception if he lied and said he did have his license. That crew didn't have a chance of winning anything because of this loser's license ommission. :sad2:

When we plan a trip I try to anticipate 'am I gonna do some fishin there' then I research licensing. Over the past few years, states have jumped on salt water licensing big time. Most states the cost is reasonable. The fishing laws can be confusing. I came close in FL---Some fish you can not lift out of the water, they must be released in the water. You better have a good release mechanism. and the right style of hook.

In North Carolina last year, I was stopped twice for a license check, surf fishing on the beach and coming ashore in my kayak (Pamlico Sound).

I like PA's law where you must show your license, i.e, wearing it on a vest or your hat in a plastic holder.

I always feel the MAN has his binoculars on me, especially in FL, and that's OK. I just wish states do like PA---Show the license---not just have it on your person.

This story made national news on Fox this morning. He definitely needs to find a new line of work.

I'm from PA and I thought you had to have the license visible everywhere. Guess it would be a good rule of thumb anyway.
