One-day ticket question - worth it?

We're considering going to WDW for one day during a trip to FL to see family the weekend before Thanksgiving. We couldn't go for more than 1 day for sure, because we are taking a longer trip in 2022.

I've never purchased a single day ticket or a ticket outside a package. Apologize if this is covered somewhere, but if we buy the single-day tickets and our plans change, are those tickets refundable in any way? Can we transfer them to be part of our 2022 trip (which would be 6-8 days)? Would appreciate any input!

1. Refundable? Nope.
2. Yes. You would be able to use the value of each ticket that you buy now...
(on a one-to-one basis) to help pay for future tickets.
Example:
If you buy, say, THREE one-day tickets now but don't use them.
You can apply the purchase value of those toward the purchase of THREE tickets (of any length) in the future.

1. Nope.
2. Yes.

Thanks for the speedy answer! :) If something unexpected happens last-minute and we couldn't use the tickets, do you know what the deadline to transfer them is? 2 days beforehand, or further out?

You don't need to "transfer" anything.
You can just let the unused tickets stay in your account.
I'd also keep those ticket numbers in a separate safe place, just so you'll have them.

You don't transfer the tickets. You get a credit for the purchase price of the unused tickets when buying new tickets, or upgrading other existing tickets. Be aware that if the unused tickets cost more than the new tickets, or the upgrade cost, you do not get any money back.

Ok- thank you! I looked at ticket prices and it looks like they are the same ($147) both time periods. One thing that is still throwing me. The ticket page says the ticket expires on the day you reserve it for. But, that's not true? I just buy tickets for 11/21, not use them, and when I book our April 2022 trip, they're applied there?

1. Correct.
2. It IS true.
3. You would need to call Disney to use the value of your never-used expired tickets toward
buying the tickets for a future trip.
(Save the ticket numbers... it can speed up the process.)

The ticket for November 21 will expire. You can't use it to book a park reservation for April or use it to enter a park in April. You have to use its purchase price to buy a new dated ticket for the day in April that you want to go, then make a park reservation for that date. As Robo said, you can do this by calling Disney. You could also do it when you get to Disney (at Guest Services), but that is not recommended because of the desirability of booking park reservations ahead of time. Disney now uses dated tickets. To go in April, you need tickets that are valid on the date in April that you are going.

And to answer what I think was your other question, "Is a one day ticket worth it." IMHO yes. It's so much fun to throw in a park day I think. Are the one day tickets expensive? yes.

Feb. of 2019 we did two nights.one day in Orlando before a cruise and got a one day ticket. Magical / wonderful day - -if you are a Disney fan just so fun to throw in a park day on top of another vacation.

I totally understand, though, that some people wouldn't do it as they do regular multiday trips where the cost per day is so much less.
