I don't recall ever seeing any free dining promotion at DLR.

FYI for the poster who asked about room restrictions-Our trip is October 2013-to use the military salute room discount at WL, you have to do woodsview with a bunk bed ($1567.38 with salute discount) or courtyard with a bunk bed ($1622.74 with salute discount) We currently have a standard view ($1884 without discount) so I'm weighing my options.

Tanks for all the hard work! Glad to see this as we have a trip planed for early October. Need 8 tickets in total so need to figure out best/most cost efficient way to pay for the other 2 (not all immediate family) but cuts down on the cost for at least 6 of the tickets!

Congrats to everyone who was waiting for the renewal! We had to postpone our trip because my sister is pregnant so any of BIL's leave would be because of the baby and traveling later in the year for holidays so the family can see the baby.

We are looking at 2015 either early spring (depends on which month Easter falls in), May or early September. It might even be a 'grand gathering' of sorts if I can save up enough to take my grandparents and my parents might come along as we'll.

So when you start a thread about the 2014 - 2015 renewal, let me know!

Phew! Finally worked out our reservations reasonably well, though not exactly as we were hoping. Still, a great deal and maybe things will settle down in a couple of weeks and more will open up. Sounds like it was a wild day for Disney agents trying to keep up with the military calls

CM told me that there weren't anymore rooms available for the salute discount at: POFQ, POR, BC, YC, CR, BLT. Do you think that they are really all gone already on the first day or should I keep trying????

I was told that yes, many are sold out at the military rate already but to call back in a couple of weeks after the initial fervor dies down. Things come up, people cancel, anything can happen if you are diligent and keep trying. But, I wouldn't drive yourself crazy with regular calls right now while things are booking with the initial rush.

That's at least the information I was given by a Disney agent today when trying to straighten out my rooms.

Just got off the phone with Disney. I tried to book AOA mermaid room and she couldn't get the discount to work. I was put on hold for almost 15 minutes while she got on the phone to try and trouble shoot and figure out why. She finally came back and said the discount wasn't available for AOA, the campground and somewhere else (I don't remember the third one) I was able to make a reservation at Pop for the end of Oct. I know the discount was good for AOA last year so if anyone has any luck booking it this year please post and I will call and try to switch the ressie.

I would try again....according to militarydisneytips.com AOA is included.....I would keep trying because I used it for AOA this year for a week in Finding Nemo suites.... The only thing would be is the blackout dates...but keep trying....have a great vacation!

This discount is really confusing me! The only thing available for my dates at the Poly was club level. I wish I knew which resorts and room types are available under the offer. It sounds like there are so many variables!

Has anyone stayed at Bay Lake Tower with the discount in the past? I just called to apply the discount to my existing reservation and the CM said nothing is available for Bay Lake Tower at all with the military discount. She said the discount isn't available for Bay Lake Tower and it wasn't a matter of room category. That just sounds "off" to me, but maybe she's right.

Now of course the Contemporary is booked up for our dates, but if something becomes available I can try to switch and use The Armed Forces Salute discount. She checked all the MK resorts and hardly anything was available at this point.

Im staying at the Bay lake tower. I booked the room last week, and applied the discount today, no issues. I have a lake view.

I got really lucky and was able to book Contemporary Resort garden wing/standard view for our trip next May! I've wanted to stay at CR for years and was thrilled we got the cheapest available room rate combined with the 40% off discount!
