OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

Hi fellow Hamster hunters! Did you see they have now put out 4 NEW hamsters- Winkie (black and white); Scoodles (brown), Nugget (yellowish) and Jilly (pink- I'm not sure I've ever seen a live pink hamster, but whatever). I found and purchased the 1st 4 (Chunk, Pipsqueak, Squiggles and Num Nums), so I'm definitely going to stop there, but for those of you who love the thrill of the hunt, you have more to chase now!

I don't know why, but this made me laugh! I just scored four rats at Walmart this week, and consider myself out of the race as well

I hope my girls LOVE them, since getting the accessories and hamsters ended up costing $100. I always loved hamsters as a kid (even had some as pets a really long time ago). I can see the appeal

I called TRU this morning to see if their truck arrived and the employee told me to call after 9am on Saturday as that is the day their truck arrives. She could not confirm if the Zhu Zhus would be on the truck. Funny thing is last week when I asked when their trucks came in I was told they never know.....

How do you know they're out already? I'm just asking because I know those ones allegedly weren't supposed to be released until November, and I checked ebay and there's none there as well so just curious

Is it true Target will start carrying this on Oct 1? I can not find the u turn and skateboard anywhere. I went to walmart the other day and was coming up on the zhu zhu pets when I saw a women putting ALL the accessorie boxes in her cart, she didn't even look what they were. I am sure they were on ebay a few hours later This is when I agree with TRU limiting your purchase. I am sure several u turns were in her cart!

TRU.com has 8 different hamsters on the website, but none are available right now. DD would love the pink one, I'm sure.

Wow. I feel for all of you with the TRU thing. My TRU has actually been really helpful and honest with us hunters. Mine seens to always get its trucks on Wed and Fri. The truck they got today was actually last fri's truck that could not be delivered because of the Nascar race. TRU told us it was coming back today. The usually don't know what is going to be on the truck until that AM.
I really don't get what all of these other TRU enployees are getting out of lying to there customers.

You know what makes me really sad about TRU? They just bought FAO in NYC. I fear that a great, unique institution will become just another run of the mill, monopolizing of the market TRU store!

I have to say I usually never buy anything at TRU. I prefer to buy toys at Target, but if I can't find something then I will venture into TRU. I did go in last week for the Leapfog sale and spent too much money......plus now the Zhu Zhu pets.....I just do not like their customer service (or lack thereof).

I think that is a little un called for - I think maybe the employee may not really always know and answer to the best of thier abilities... I know that the trucking business is never 100% reliable either so it may not necessarily be a lie... and personally finding these items is part of the fun!!!!!

I for one am a Toys R Us Kid!!!! Always have been always will be!!! I love TRU and love to shop there with my Daughter!!!

Forgot to say the three pack is $34.95, but they are having a sale $10 off a $30.00 purchase. It says it under the hampsters, so I am guessing they will take it off at the register. I already have mine, but I know a lot of people are having a hard time finding the hampsters, hope this helps! good luck hunting.
I only wish i could pre order the newer hampsters!

Yes, I am too. I assume that probably means they are overloaded w/order &/or out of stock already. Very frustrating to be so close and not be able to get them into the cart!

Well, just got back from TRU and Walmart. I was told to be at TRU early on Wed. There were others there too, so there was a line. When they opened the door, the employee said the truck came late, so no hamsters were out. We went back anyway and they had a few access. I got the spiral slide at least, the last one I needed. There weren't a ton of people there...about 10 in front of me and a few behind. Not everyone was there for ZZP. So I'm still looking for hamsters! We were talking about it in line and got some tips for other TRU stores far away that have them or will, but 1 is 1 hr away, so I'm almost better off buying the 4 pack off Ebay for 50.00 then driving 2 hrs RT in "hopes" of getting them. Since their $10 there anyway. Most of these people didn't even know they are sold at Walmart. I told them I've gotten most access. there, but no hamsters. Oh yeah, my TRU is limiting to only 2 per purchase, but the other TRUs around here say 4 per.

So we went to the Walmart that I never go to and they had tons of access. NO HAMSTERS...I was there last week looking for them on Fri. and the lady told me she had a bunch the day before. And she ordered a bunch more.

BTW, the employees at my TRU are usually very nice, but I noticed today, when asked about ZZP, not as nice. When I was checking out there was a lady asking if they could hold 1 for her as she was there since 9am (they open at 10am) and this was the second time she had done this. She was told "no" and was not happy.

This is the first time I've been after the "hot" toy like this! I hope my kids really enjoy them for awhile after all this trouble...We got my son Spike the Dino last year since his bday is in Sept. Thought it'd be the hot toy come Christmas. He plays with it some, but not enough for the price we paid!!

Well, I'll give it the rest of the week to find some hammies, but I might have to go over to the dark side soon!!

DD and I had to drive to the city today; we randomly stopped by any TRU or Walmart we passed and did pretty well. This was north of Atlanta, sorry I'm not familiar with that area so I can't give specific locales. The TRU near where 316 meets I85 said they get their shipments on Thursday at 10am, and they're usually gone by 11am. Call first because they haven't been getting them on every truck. This TRU had a big empty space where they should be (the 3-pack was marked at $19.99 oddly) but the customer service lady said to check with them, the pets never seem to make it onto the floor.

The Walmart near Sam's Club had the car and the wheel and the Walmart in Lawrenceville right off 316 had the funhouse. We also found the pink and the orange blanket thingy, DD was thrilled. She's been saving up her allowance for these and on Friday we'll sit down and figure out what she can get so far. I'd usually make her wait and keep checking the store, but since today was the only time I've ever seen accessories, I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.
