OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

Just got back from TRU. I had to return something, so I asked about the ZZPs. Actually, while I was standing there, someone called and asked! Anyway, she said to come in early Wed. I was there this past Wed. about 45 min. after they opened. They had alot of access. but no hamsters. I did buy some access. Also, I went back to look and they had 1 funhouse left and a sign limiting hamsters. Guess I'll be there Wed. 10am. I'm supposed to call Walmart tonight at 10:30pm to see if any were on the truck as the stocker instructed me!! It's crazy, but also kinda fun...thrill of the chase and all!!:rolleyes1

Pixie dust to everyone looking!!:dance3:

P.S. Indiana mommas...Walmart on E. Washington St. in Indy has hamsters grey, pink, white, and brown! That is it though, no accessories.

Caribear: In my area you have a better chance of finding them at Walmart in the evening. That is when they restock. I have also fouund that they tell you the truth over the phone. :thumbsup2 TRU is the opposite, they have fresh stock usually only in the morning and they lie all the time!

Thanks for the info! I just called Walmart and they couldn't find anyone in toys! I was on hold for 15 minutes.....but the lady asked another person who told her they put out toy stock around 10:30-11pm. Ugh! Not sure what to do as it is raining and my 2 year old is tired....guess I will see.

I was in the Bethlehem Walmart tonight and found 1 sleeping bag. I grabbed it to put away....I gues this is how I'm gonna get it....1 peice at a time (and I ahve 2 kids!)

This Walmart had a sign saying more were order and expected shipment date was 10/6. Hope we are able to get some then!!!!

Excellent! I'm thinking of looking for them in Whitehall again today. I'll keep you posted!

Somehow I got "caught up" in this thread and started the hunt. As some other posters have suggested, call Wal-Mart and see when they get their shipments in, I've found that in my area it's at night so you should get there first thing in the morning when they open, or late if it's a 24-hour Wal-Mart. I have a son so I was initially hesistant about getting them, but he loves to build things and I think that he will have fun setting up the set and then racing them.

By the way, if you are in Chicagoland and the South Suburbs..

Try the Wal-Mart in Orland Park (they had the funhouse, adventure ball, surfboard and doam & carrier I think). Only 4 hamsters were left this AM, and I got 2 (hidden at the very bottom of a shelf). The only other thing I'd want is the spiral slide and ramp. The different things were all spread out, hiding in different areas of the toy section. Their hamster $8.

Toys R Us in Orland Park expects shipment this morning (September 26). TRU hamster $10.

Wal-Mart in Glenwood has the hamsters but no accessories.

In west Chicagoland, the store on North Avenue in Northlake has the fun house, the ball, the wheel and the car - but hamsters are rare. As far as I know, they get truck every night, and it is best to get there first thing in the morning.

I haven't found ANYTHING at the Walmart on 83 in Elmhurst.

Seems like every Walmart except mine is receiving these things! I have gone 4 different days...and nothing. Then the employee tells me there should be some accessories on Friday night's truck. So I called last night at 10pm...no one picked up in toys and the electronics guy had no clue what Zhu Zhu pets were....called back at 11pm....again no on in toys answered. I dragged my DS2 out of bed at 5AM to go over to Walmart to check and see if they received their shipment....nothing on the shelves and they had already put out all their toy stock. I asked an employee to check and see if they had any in stock and she said "I can't take anything out of the back." and walked away. I then called this morning and talked to a lady who said she did not see any last night as she was putting away the toys. She said they had a large 4-sided display of Zhu Zhu pets about 2 weeks ago....now the display is gone....told me to call on Monday and speak to the Dept. Manager. What fun this is going to be....and it's only Septmeber! :scared1:

is limited ANY zhu zhu anything, Pet, blanket, accessory to 1 per person,
they are not on the shelves, they are behind the service desk

Yesterday I got there at 9.50 with about 40 people in line and the TRU emplyoees are handing out tickets to get 1

Now after the whole line was done there was a still a pile of stuff left and they wouldnt let us buy 1 more or anything, 1 per person..

so I have to go there 3 times a week at 9.50 and wait online.. GRRR

I would like to know your opinions for this Christmas scenerio. I have purchased a hamster and a ball for my DD. My sister has found a hamster and a garage/car for her son. She is thinking of returning the car when she finds a ball. :scared1: She envisions my DD and DN "racing" hamsters on Christmas AM. :rotfl: I am thinking she is nuts and that a car and ball can race. For those of you who have opened your toys is this possible? I just don't understand why it has to be a fair hamster race and she isn't happy with what she has. :confused3 Why continue the hunt when it is done? Thanks for any help, maybe I am not understanding the car correctly.

Framingham, MA TRU had the fun house, car, slide, wheel, and bed this afternoon. No hamsters in site.

In Augusta, GA I have been able to find hamsters, the fun house and blankets but nothing else. I would really love the ball, car, slide, and wheel.

These shortages are making me insane. I wish they would take the commercial off the air. :headache:,

The Athens, Georgia TRU had about 20 this morning of white, yellow, and grey hamsters but nothing else. They were listed as out of stock on the website before we went so I was surprised to see them on the shelf. The clerk said they got 50 in a shipment yesterday and he was surprised that there was still some left.

I went to TRU, Target, and Walmart today and none of them had anything!! I asked at the service counter and TRU told me that they got some in last week and they sold out in 20 minutes. Of course, no one can tell me when they will be in again. Walmart Cust service was terrible as ususal. They were no help. Target said they don't have them yet.

I went to the Whitehall TRU today cause it said online they had some in stock..... NADA!

I had to go to Phillipsburg for something and checked out the Walmart there and all I found were beds and carriers. While Iwas there I looked in the TRU... nada, but they did have a sign up stating the hamsters are limited to 3 per day or 1 3pk or something like that.

My 6 year old informed me today that she wants one of these for Christamas. I asked my 10 year old is she just likes it or really, really wants one. DD 10 said she wants one soooo bad so I guess I'll joint the ranks of those looking. I had no clue what they were until I looked it up today and then read this thread. Anyone in the West Ga area runs across them, let me know. I haven't even checked the stores yet but I'm sure this problem is everywhere.:scared1:

Went back to TRU tonight to pick up some more Leapfrog products and the friendlier manager was working so I asked her if they had any ZHu Zhu's in stock. She said the truck came in Thursday (this is when I picked up 2 hamsters and beds) and they had tons....lasted until Friday at noon. So I mentioned I already had hamsters and was looking for any of the accessories. She says..hmmm...let me check. Comes back with "the last 2 items the store has in stock" .....the spiral slide and the skateboard ramp. Now this seems odd....as I asked on Thursday if there were any accessories and the other manager said no, only hamsters....now they happen to have some accessories hanging around??? Really makes me think something funky is going on......oh well....in the meantime one of my friend's aunts found the funhouse in Illinois and is shipping them to us in FL. This is just crazy!

Got some more acces today! found the surfboard/sleep dome, grey rat (as dh calls it!)adventure ball, 2 bed &blank, 2pet carrier/blank

Our WM said they have more on order - if you talk to the dept manager or co manager they should be able to look up & tell you when they expect more coming in....ours should be in around the 5th

And yes WM's stock during the night -starting around 10 & no there are no employees on the floor in toys @ that time of night & noone typically mans the phones - someone grabs it as they walk by....the employees are all brining out pallets & they have a meeting around 10 usually...at leat that's how it was @ the WM I worked at.

I thought I was in the clear with these things... my boys have no interest in them. WELL, my niece wants one, and my lovely sis in law told her "don't worry, Auntie will find you one." ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! SO, add me to the list of people looking for them....

I bought a couple of the hamsters a few days ago after reading the first page of this thread. They didn't have any displayed at Walmart, but I asked an employee and she went to the back and brought back a box with four hamsters. I bought two, not realizing how difficult they are to find. I actually bought them for a friend's two boys, ages 6 & 7. I thought I'd try to find the skateboard and car/garage to go with each of them. Does anyone think they will even interest little boys (who are VERY rough and roudy)? If not, I had thought I would either return them or save them to donate to a child off the Angel Tree or Ronald McDonald House. Anyone here with boys that age whose boys want Zhu Zhu hamsters and accessories for Christmas gifts? Or should I give them to little girls? Thanks for the help. :goodvibes
