There was just a report about the Zhu Zhus on the local news. I imagine that will draw some more people into the hamster hunt.

I seriously think the slide is the hardest piece to find! At least in my area!

LOL My friend was facebooking What is going on ?? at Toysrus there is a huge line.
So she got in it. No idea what it was for but figured she must want it.

They were giving out tickets- and she got the last one.
It was for the zhuzhu hamster. She got 2 things to go with it.

She doesn't even know if her kids will want it but I said with all the kids we know someone surely will want it.

The thrill of the hunt is gone!! I am so frustrated!!

Been to 4 Walmarts and a Sam's Club (just in case) yesterday and 2 Walmarts and 1 TRU today. No hamsters anywhere!! This is besides the places I was to earlier in the week. Was tipped off that another TRU had a huge shipment coming in this morning--got there and of course, now it's not til Tues. These new places are not close either, involve driving on the highway and trying to find. I have all the access., where are the hammies?!!

How much is my time worth and not to mention the gas!!

Anyone on Long Island finding these?

Hello, I am new here but can offer some advice. first off, Walmart is a crapshoot. They have deliveries every night, sometimes twice a day. Target is not selling them yet. Toys R Us has been getting them pretty consistently for the past 2 weeks on Tuesdays, and Fridays. Your best bet is to find out from your local store to ascertain when the next truck is coming, and be there 10 min before opening. There is almost always a line, and they go FAST! Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and be ready to run if needed, because people revert to animal instincts when in pursuit of these things. Good luck mommies and daddies, and Grandmas!

Have you tried the befriending a worker tactic to get the insider info? Sometimes that is the only thing that works! Too bad I can't pass a couple of hamsters through the computer to you in exchange for the slide.

My DH said "yeah, why not send her the slide for some hamsters!!" I said I don't think we can do that!!

I have talked to the workers at Walmart who are usually very nice, but not very helpful...

Bella - Where in Colorado are you ? I'm in Aurora. Maybe if we are on opposite sides of town we can keep each other informed. I drive by the Toys R Us by Mississippi and I-225 daily. I haven't been to stand in line at Toys R Us but may try that strategy next week.

Hi!! I'm in Westminster. I was at your TRU this morning!! And the Walmart on Exposition. And the one in Brighton...Anyway, when I was at my TRU on Wed. morning as instructed, and the truck was late, there was a woman there waiting in line who said your TRU was getting a ton today, so that's why I went and although they did have plenty of access., there were no hamsters, just empty hooks. But they said Tues they will have a shipment.

That'd be great if we could keep each informed!!

Some Walmarts by me have the empty hooks at least. Hopefully that means they will get them soon!!

Toys R Us has a preorder going for the three pack of hamsters. Limit is 3 - I just preordered one. It says the estimated shipping date is 12/11/09, so hopefully I'll get it here for my DD in time for Xmas. The accessories have been turning up here and there at Walmarts near me, but I didn't want to get any until I had the hamsters. Now watch, I won't find crap.

But we can't find the accessories, I finally did luck up and find a funhouse and ball at Wal-Mart, but now I am nearly killing myself running from store, to store, to store, to store........ Looking for the slide, and a couple of pink blankets. I'm about to give up and just buy them off of e-bay.

We now have the hamsters, the funhouse, the car/garage, and the wheel. The only pieces that I still want are the slide and ball. We have relatives across the US looking for those pieces.

It amazes me that we found the pets first, but the accessories have been hard to come by around here. Other places seem to have the opposite happening. Target around here still has no clue. Walmart is the only place that we have had any luck.

Yeah, don't encourage those jerks who are charging $100 for a pack of hamsters! The manufacturer already raised their prices, I see, so it's only a matter of time before these ebay sellers raise it even more. Don't let them win! Sounds like you already have more than most of us, good for you (and your kids!)!

The hamster ball is worthless the hamster mostly just tips over and you have to attach a thing for his bottom to keep him from tipping in it and he still just falls over half the time. Very annoying, also of the 2 i have one of the hamsters gears already stripped out, but it was played w/ very hard core so i don't feel like it didn't have reason to break my daughter was pretty rough on it.

I got 1 Hamster & the funhouse today. My TRU only got 1 box of 8 hamsters so they limited us to 1 per person. Usually they allow 2.

I heard that the TRU I hit today will have a shipment for Thursday & Saturday, and another one nearby will get them on Wed. I am not buying too much of this stuff, so I hope to be done by next weekend.

I finally scored some accessories today. Our TRU had a ton of hamsters in all 4 colors, and almost all the accessories. Limit of 4 peices total per customer. We got: ball, the wheel, the car, and the slide. They had the sleep dome, surf board, and house. Mom already got 2 hamsters and a house so I k we are set for DD's birthday in 2 weeks. If she really loves them I may look for the other stuff for christmas.

I was looking at the website and it says Mr. Squiggles will be appearing in 17 days in Times Square (with a countdown clock counting the days!). The question is, will this mean more of a supply on the shelves or the same non-supply, meaning ebay prices skyrocket even further. You would think the company would know what's going on with ebay.

No clue! My guess is that it is a promo, news getting tool with a person inside a hamster suit and no real difference in supply and demand...but that is just my guess.
