I just read that priceline has given been giving rooms on Disney property, (Sport and Music) for an amazingly low bid of $36.00 a night. :cool1:

I would never be able to stay on site at rack rates and this new discovery has me giddy to say the least.

I have a couple questions for anyone who might know....

If you "win" a room via priceline would you still be able to get the meal plan?

Also priceline has these hotels set at a 2.5* , that pretty low and I wonder why. Any ideas on that ??

So even though this will be a crap shoot in HIGH hopes of getting one of the onsite hotels I will be trying it out this afternoon.

Wish me luck.

Don't do it unless you will be happy staying offsite as well. A lot of people are getting Holiday Inn Nikki Bird. I got Amerisuites at Calypso Cay - but it's only one night and it looks like a nice place. Plus I'll have a car so no problem.

Lori, just know there is a GOOD chance you might not get a AS resort. The other morning I thought the same "wow, $36 is AWESOME!" so I bid and ended up with the HI Nikki Bird. Since I'm solo and have an open mind after reading reviews, I'm fine with it, but still disappointed deep inside. Still haven't decided if I'll stay there yet, but just be forwarned.

Also, CarolA has a great thread going with what dates people have won AS on so it will give you an idea what chance you have for your date:

Good luck with your decision!!! :teeth:

The dining is part of a package I think. Free dining is not available unless you pay rack rate. I got Holiday Inn Nikki bird for a night for my daughter between resorts.

Now I am afraid. I use priceline faithfully but normaly bid no less then 3*. I have gotten Nikki Bird and it was SOOOO bad that I would cry if I got that again :(

Ok thanks guys , re-thinking, ill let you know what happens.

If there are *any* hotels in the same zone/category that you would cry over, I would not risk it.

You can see a list of hotel zones at biddingfortravel.com; look under Florida/Orlando.

Also the dining plan would not be included. In order to purchase the dining plan you must book a package through Disney.

I think if you only need for 2 or 3 nights, then trying Priceline isn't a bad idea really, if you can stand to lose the one nights bid. The $36 came to $47 with taxes. We took the chance of losing it and ended up with Amerisuites. We need two nights, but I bid for one and then added the second night after we saw what we got. If you are going three nights, I would try for one night, the middle night and if you get something you are happy with, then add the others.
