OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Absolutely no worries!

Actually the info about the situation with GV and full balconies can't be found on page 1 - it is in my personal notes, so you wouldn't have found anything there!

Wow! Do you have any notes on water-view CL rooms?

Wanting to book YC pool/lagoon view - (not club, just standard). Is my shot of getting a lagoon view good or am I more apt to get SAB view? Don't want the noise.....

YC water view in my experience is mostly the lagoon. If you are looking at SAB you are far enough away that most of the time there really is no noise factor to worry about. Look at that resort map and I think you'll see what I'm talking about. Okay, you may get the quiet pool and not the lagoon but again I wouldn't consider any noise factor there. However, don't do the on-line check in and see what they have for you when you discuss things with the reservation desk. I think that's probably your best shot.

Waiting with baited breath to hear who the mystery guest was!!

Janet, if I'm still posting you have to as well. LOL

Started WW this week and despite 4 dinner events this week plus supper last night at the ILs, I'm down 5.5 lbs! Woot! Only 14.5 more before I can start training.

I have a question regarding YC CL lagoon view rooms and daybeds. I was reading the first page of this thread and in post #9 under room categories, it states standard view CL sleeps 5 + 1 under 3, garden/courtyard view CL (nothing listed), and lagoon view CL sleeps 4 + 1 under age 3. Does this mean there are no daybeds in any of the lagoon view rooms? We are looking to possibly book YC CL in July 2013 and I would put in a request for a room with a daybed, but after reading about the room categories, I'll skip that request if it isn't possible to get one. Also, is it possible to get a view of SAB from a lagoon CL room?

I am also not so patiently waiting for info on the meet and greet :)

Congrats on the weight loss. That is fantastic :yay::yay:

We were in a YC CL lagoon view room last August and had two queen beds and a day bed. We could see part of SAB from the balcony on our room, as well as some of the fireworks from Illuminations.

Have great stay at the YC!!

Thank you :flower3:. I was hoping they were available as we have 2 older teens who don't care to share a bed....lol. If our request isn't met, it will be fine, but I'd hate to totally leave it up to chance and not at least put a request in for one. We've stayed at the BC before and are excited about trying the other side :goodvibes.

I "inherited" the sleeping capacity info from a previous incarnation of the thread when I took it over, so I don't really know the answer to your question. Thanks for pointing out the lack of a listing for YC CL GV- again, at the time I took over the thread the room categories were just standard and lagoon/waterview, so I will go to the Disney webpage to see what they have for occupancy for this type of room.

According to outahere, there is at least one room in that category that has a day bed, but I believe if there are very few, it is possible that particular category of room can't be booked for parties larger than 4.

I'm pretty sure that is the case with the BC CL GV rooms-they are not supposed to be booked for a party of 5

I have to admit that I am as confused as the rest of you as to what the possible views of the waterview rooms are- Lagoon/SAB/quiet pools.

Me too!

You Can Fantasize about who might have showed up at the meet, but I won't give away any secrets. :goodvibes

I do know that the "Big Guy" himself was supposed to make an appearance, along with a few bird-brains!

Here at BC now. Checked in Sunday and made it to the Dis meet. Have a wonderful view over SAB and Crescent Lake on Club level!! Pixie Dust!!!!!!! The CMs have been so wonderful and have really gone out of their way to make everything so magical. I'm a diehard YC Fan but the BC CMs are making it hard not to convert.

My days for are Jan. 26 - Feb 1. My Mom and I are so excited! =) Thanks for everyone's help on the boards.

Were you the special guest? Any pictures? The BC CM are amazing aren't they?

Hi all! We switched today from BC to AKL. That noise you hear in the background is me sobbing. I'll try not to get too noisy over here....

Thank you Teena and Lauren for helping me out! Wednesday can't come soon enough!

AKL is nice....we were upgraded to a bunk bed room. The kids are excited about the bed....go figure.....we just took down their bunk beds not too long ago! It's just so DARK here....the lighting, the furnishings, everything. It's quite a walk to The Mara to get our mugs refilled, and we are in the same wing as it! I miss the twisty, bright hallways of BC.....sob......

The CM's are pleasant here, just not quite as magical as the wonderful family of BC. Sniff sniff.....

After getting caught in the monsoon at EPCOT today (that squishing you hear are our soaked shoes..and of course, i had my Kindle, ipad and the kids' ipods in my backpack!), we are heading to MK tonight. I'm hoping to be around for the Kiss Goodnight.

Sniff....sniff! Gulp....sob....WAAAAAA

I'll be OK.....eventually!

THanks much! THink I am going to go for it..though I really hope a nice special comes out on the rooms. Hating booking at full price!

On a side note, I wrote a letter to WDW about my thoughts on BC CL and I THINK from the sound of the sweet cast member that called me there have been other letters written about the cut backs. She pretty much said "I totally agree with you". Assured me mgt. read all the letters.

I gave awesome kudos to TEENA and Neil at CL. I explained the wonderful job they both do in assuring a magical stay for us!! The CM said it does go into employee files. I sure hope!

I think it's kind of strange and I've always wondered why all of the BC/YC rooms didn't accommodate 5 people and come with daybeds. Although we are a family of 4 and don't technically need a daybed, they are nice to have. It's not a make or break deal for us, but I didn't want to confuse anyone making a request for something that wasn't available. I can understand your confusion as Disney has made it a little confusing with changing/adding room categories.

When we stayed YC we could see a bit of the "kiddie" area of SAB. Now this was club level but noise wasn't really an issue so I think you'll be ok. I can probably dig a pic up if you'd like, just let me know.

thanks! One year we had 2 balconies (suite pixie dust upgrade) and the back bedroom faced SAB front on and I don' recall being bothered by the noise but I slept in the front bedroom facing the lagoon...I think I should be ok with noise as well. I am disappointed b/c there is no availability in 2013 at YC GV at all in June - it is crazy! So I am forced to do waterview for 100 more a night!:faint: That isnt' so worth it to me but what else can I do? Thanks much.

Hey JanetMom- thanks for the "Dear John" letter, but don't you dare disappear!!! A little known fact about the Yacht & Beach Club resorts. They have a lot in common with the Hotel California. You can checkout any time you want, but you can never leave!

Alright, Alright :lmao:... I said I'd keep lurking, I just might not post as much.

I'm guessing I will post less often and the new people who come along and become regulars will wonder who the nutcase is that comes in and occasionally interjects a comment.

I have to admit, this group wouldn't be easy to leave behind.

Congratulations on the weight loos, Feckless. I keep setting vacation weight loss goals that I haven't been meeting. You are smart to have built in some training goals that can be celebrated at WDW! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Laurie they ALL have full balconies on BC GV CL - so honestly my request in your case would be "non handicapped room" unless ofcourse you need it.The one I refer to has the sink IN the bathroom and terrible water pressure in the shower bc it is handheld....

Do you guys know the room #'s for those handicapped rooms? IPO gave me a # and I'm hoping it isn't handicapped because I love to take baths. thanks :thumbsup2
