OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Isn't it fun! Hope that you enjoyed your stay at POFQ. Love the beignets there.

We loved it there. Nice small feel especially compared to the other moderates. It was our second stay there.

Didn't have any beignets this trip. Avoiding fried foods in my diet but didn't avoid ice cream. :confused3

I'm pretty sure that is the case with the BC CL GV rooms-they are not supposed to be booked for a party of 5.

We are booked for BC CL GV for a party of 5 next month and we also had one last year. We had a daybed last time and I'm hoping for one again this time, we've been told we have one by the IPO staff but I guess we will see.

Do you guys know the room #'s for those handicapped rooms? IPO gave me a # and I'm hoping it isn't handicapped because I love to take baths. thanks :thumbsup2

I am sorry I didn't note the number and I sure should have! The one I got though DID have a tub, looked just like a regular tub/shower except instead of shower head you had hand held thing with zero pressure. There was still a tub but sinks were inside bathroom. huge bathroom really. However I know there is a handicapped room that is just roll in shower, no tub, and that I have no idea where it is.

We had a handicapped room at VWL last year that had a roll-in shower so I was disappointed. Hoping that doesn't happen again.

I honestly cannot imagine they would double whammy the GV CL rooms with 2 handicapped rooms. That would be nutty.....I think you are fine. We had 2 rooms there last month - across the hall from each other - both connected to OTHER rooms - and neither had a daybed. One was handicapped....

Help.... New and trying to learn the lingo lol. IPO???
So we are staying club level with 5 people next month. I had requested balcony but should i requested a daybed? I just sorta assumed with 5 they would know we needed a daybed??

I called and told the IPO a daybed was our only request so I'm really hoping they come through for us. I do NOT want to look at a roll-away bed for 8 days. :worried:

IPO is itinerary planning office... they are the people who help guests who book club level rooms. I would definitely tell them you want a daybed. We are also a group of 5 and were told there is no guarantee we will have a daybed, it could be a roll-away.

Thank you.... Both for helping me figure out IPO and letting them know about the daybed! Will call tomorrow.:thumbsup2

Sooo, maybe finishing my Trip Report is paying off. My husband didn't want to read it until it was complete, so he spent his spare time today reading through it.

Now he is longing to go back and is talking about how our first adult only trip should be to go back to WDW. :) Yay!

My son is turning 16 in September, so we figure we are only a couple of years away from beginning vacations without him. I'm sure there will be future trips with him, but once he is on his own we likely will take more vacations without him.

We both agree that for our first trip with just the two of us, we need to be back at the BC/YC so we can spend our evenings at Epcot.

Let the planning begin!

OK. Yes. I was the surprise guest and what a surprise it was for Robyn! Her husband even told her he thought he saw me at the pool and she assured him I WAS NOT here!! I have pictures but I don't have a computer and cannot figure out how to post from my phone. I guess I'll have to wait until I get home. That will be this weekend.

I can help with what is NOT handicapped if that helps. We were in 5635 and it was a BC GV CL room that WAS a connecting room. Not sure if that helps

Thanks for the info.

Interesting! Please let us know after the trip if you get the same room or something different.

Can you text a couple to my phone? I'll PM you my cell number.

Or we can wait. :faint:

I know this will sound crazy. I also know how fortunate I am to be able to have an upcoming trip. But, I want to slow my ticker down. I don't want my trip to be exactly two weeks away. I know that the minute I get to WDW, the holiday that we have been planning since January will fly by in a blink of an eye. It will be over all too soon, and then, to make matters worse, it will be time for me and my daughter to return to school. (Can you guess I am a teacher?!) And....after spending on this trip, we won't be able to go back to WDW for a few years, so I can't cure my blues by starting to plan another trip.

I love WDW. I have been visiting "The World" since August 1972 when my parents first took us. I know how great it is. I also know how hard the postholiday blues can hit me. Couple that with the start of school, and I fear a real let down. It is coloring my outlook. Oh, I don't want to be a downer. Life is too short to waste such glorious opportunities. Why is it that time at WDW seems to go by so much faster than it does in the real world?

Everyone on this thread is so kind. Thank you for letting me vent. I actually feel a little better.

THanks much! THink I am going to go for it..though I really hope a nice special comes out on the rooms. Hating booking at full price!

On a side note, I wrote a letter to WDW about my thoughts on BC CL and I THINK from the sound of the sweet cast member that called me there have been other letters written about the cut backs. She pretty much said "I totally agree with you". Assured me mgt. read all the letters.

I gave awesome kudos to TEENA and Neil at CL. I explained the wonderful job they both do in assuring a magical stay for us!! The CM said it does go into employee files. I sure hope!

Scottmel sounds like your BC CL had some issues during your visit. We will be staying BC CL Standard view in September. (First time at BC and made the reservations before I knew that all CL room did not have a great view.) Do you mind sharing what was the issues so I can prepare or side step them if possible? We are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary during out stay. I am glad to hear that a CM contacted you regarding your letter.

I don't know if it will make it any better, but you sound like me last summer. I spent the whole year planning the most amazing first trip to Disney for my kids. I planned and scheduled and had so much fun. I also scheduled it before knowing my official start date. I returned to school/work the morning after we returned from Disney (10 hours after our flight landed). I will say that the beginning of the year craziness helped me to get over the blues and I was still on a Disney high for a while. Then I had my pictures to keep me going!

Good luck and enjoy every minute and I hope you have a smooth start to the school year.

First I want to extend my sympathy to Tina and the staff at BC/YC for the loss of Vic. He sounds like he was a super employee and co-worker. He certainly has touched many lives for the better from what I have read. I feel so badly for his wife and family :grouphug:

I have just read the last 20-25 pages to catch up with you all. Wow...what a great thread with helpful friendly people. :) you all really do move quickly over here. I do have a couple of questions since this is our first Epcot stay which means our first time at the Beach Club.

We have booked a CL standard level room, I have tried to upgrade it to garden view several times, however the code I booked with is sold out for GV rooms. I have requested a full balcony. We would have liked a King bed however Tina wrote back a few months ago about the limited number of them and suggested we choose which was more important for us a King bed or full balcony. (Thank you again Tina for your help) We choose the full balcony. My DH is very tall 6'5 and trying to sleep in a queen with him usually has me in a top corner of the bed. :crowded: At the time I booked I read that the rooms have two queens or one king which would be fine. If I am too crowded I can move over to the other bed in a two queen room. A king with a full balcony would be fantastic....but probably not possible.

So my question is this: Today I have been going through everything about the BC, one place is state’s all rooms have 2 queens with some have a day bed, another place it states that some rooms have 1 queen bed. :scared1: One place I read that all single queen bed rooms have been redone with 2 queens.

I am concerned about getting a room with 1 queen bed. Does someone know if there is a possibility of us getting assigned a single queen room? Should I talk with the IPO regarding getting a 2 queen room or??

Alright, Alright :lmao:... I said I'd keep lurking, I just might not post as much.

I'm guessing I will post less often and the new people who come along and become regulars will wonder who the nutcase is that comes in and occasionally interjects a comment.

I have to admit, this group wouldn't be easy to leave behind.

Congratulations on the weight loos, Feckless. I keep setting vacation weight loss goals that I haven't been meeting. You are smart to have built in some training goals that can be celebrated at WDW! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

I had to laugh because I am that nutcase who posts here or there ...

Didn't have any beignets this trip. Avoiding fried foods in my diet but didn't avoid ice cream. :confused3

I can give almost anything up, but ice cream is not one of them:lmao:

Do you have an under 3? CRO wouldn't let me book GV CL or LV CL even though it was available. The same thing happened at YC in June and BC last September. :confused3
