I have already booked to check in on the 4th of Oct...used a caa rate..so at least I have some discount...just hoping..crossing my fingers something better will come along!
Parks are usually not to crowded. For WDW that is. Temp often still in mid to sometimes upper 80's. Buy park passes ASAP if you haven't already as they raise those prices at least twice a year. Always ask at check in whether any upgrades are available (preferably to management-or in their earshot). Often you can even get upgraded to a better property for same price as this is their "off" season. But NOONE will offer it. You can ask them for just about anything and it does't thurt anyone and often they will accomodate for free if it's something otherwise not being utilized. Be aggressive in your very nicest way. LOL It reallly works.
Only drawbck to value particularly in slow season is the lack of WDW transpo.ie. buses. Value resorts get the shaft with least buses running and waits can get long.
We were there this past October and it was HOT and very HUMID! It was also very rainy, which was a blessing in disguise because it gave us some relief from the heat!
Get one of those fan things that spray you with water!
We were there the middle of October this year. No deals during our week. I had booked the Poly with an AP hoping to get a discount.
I think these weeks in the middle of October were called the black-hole weeks. Had I known there would have not been any deals I would have tried to get a AAA rate.
Oh well whats done is done, we payed rack-rate something I hadn't done in at least 10 years.
The weather was very hot and humid while we were there 90's every day. One afternoon we did get a shower it rained heavy for about 2 hours. Other then that it was a perfect vacation.
We'll be going the end of October, which is regular season...I was thinking of changing it up to be in value season but we like to go for DD's birthday (Halloween).
I am planning (but not booked) a trip around Halloween also, we have our costumes already but I am in sticker shock. Our December trip was substantially less.
Also, I am having trouble with my air fare as I normally would book and pay for Song/Delta but I am nervous with the bankruptcy and possible pilots strike. They have a nice early flight out of JFK.
I hope holding off doesn't bite me in the butt.
