As noted above, this can (and has) change(d). Right now, the Guides are holding firm to 60 as the max.
A shame - still - 8 months at 0% is pretty good. Plus you get rewards with the Disney visa so you basically get a discount for doing it.

Unfortunately you cant pay for a DVC purchase with a gift card. But you can pay dues with them
But you have to pay it all upfront now if using a GC for dues… less of an incentive vs 0% and spread out over 12m.That's a shame, but still yeah I always pay my dues with Disney gift cards. An instant 5% discount, yes please and thank you.

For me it made sense, since I knew I wanted a blue card regardless. I am feeling really good today that compared to this round of incentives I paid $7400 less for my 300 points, so as with a lot of things waiting can ultimately end up costing you more (sometimes it can save you money too). Being able to pay fully for direct w/ credit cards also brought my overall cost down significantly so it made more sense to buy at VDH. If you aren't okay w/ studios then it might not be as good of a choice though.
Disclaimer for all reading: I do not condone financing DVC at 5, 10 or 15 years. If I was financing I wouldn't have purchased. My purchase was done with credit cards to earn cash back / points and I had cash to pay them off, which I did
It’s a great way to add additional DL availability if you are OK with studios.
There are also some sweet spots on the seasonal point chart vs VGC if you have travel flexibility.
I think it will always require booking very early in the home resort window to get a 1Bd and will be walked at the absolute most desirable times. What do you mean paying with credit cards brought your cost down?
I completely forgot that there aren't that many 1-bedrooms. Maybe that's why I stopped looking at VDH last time around. Will it always be hard to get a 1-bedroom at 11 months there or would it get better eventually?
We definitely aren't planning to buy anymore points right now. But we are going to try to get over to VDH to get a little tour when we're at VGC in December.
However, if it would be too hard to stay in a 1-bedroom, then it's not really worth it to me. If we had both VDH and VGC points, we'd probably alternate where we stay each year. Which means each time, we'd have 2 years worth of points to use at each resort. So basically 320 for a trip to VGC in 2026 and then 300 at VDH in 2027 (since we mostly just go once a year.) that's way too much for a studio. Honestly, a bit much for a 1-bedroom but not too bad.
The cards I got gave me over 1 million points. 1 million points is typically valued at $10,000 often much more but a conservative value is 1 cent per point. I normally wouldn't have spent that much money, so I take that 10k as a discount towards my purchase. What do you mean paying with credit cards brought your cost down?

I have gotten a 1 bed 30 days out. So it can be plan at 11 months out or spontaneous trips. Harder for the in-betweenWhat do you mean paying with credit cards brought your cost down?

I think you specifically may also have issues with your noise sensitivity on the lower floors unless you use a white noise machine.
If they do magical beginnings for SSR, doesn't that bring it down to 179 a point direct for 150 points? That's not as low as VGF was, but that is lower for direct. Was VGF's fire sale using magical beginnings?
Exactly. We were on the Disney Fantasy las month and looked into getting Poly points direct. Wanted to spread it out over 90 days, we were told new rules state 60 days.As noted above, this can (and has) change(d). Right now, the Guides are holding firm to 60 as the max.
Should be fine with a noise machine. Just maintenance team in the early morning in the pool area.Oh...why is it so noisy there?? I was actually wondering if it would be a quieter option if we were to want to travel during loud DCA (and VGC villa) times like Oogie Boogie type events or grad nights.
We do usually have a white noise machine...or lately I've been bringing 2 places to basically have on both sides of the room.
So far, I've always booked at exactly 11 months because I'm such a big plan-in-advance person.
The wild thing is at Aulani there are by my count 4 different places where DVC guides are permanently stationed during daylight hours - the left hand wants to sell it!Someday they'll decide they finally want to sell Aulani out.
.....right?
Ugh. I will forever regret not buying more points during this sale. We had the mil incentive also which brought ours down to $156pp.Our VGF purchase it worked out like this on 150 points:
$217pp starting price. Stacking incentives saved around 25% off.
-$22pp MB
-$7.233pp credit for the 5 free points
-$10pp Welcome Home
-$16.666pp Developer Credit
Combined incentives saved $56pp. $217pp - $56pp = $161pp.
At 200 points it’s $28pp… add some magical beginnings at $20pp… That’s $187pp…..The wild thing is at Aulani there are by my count 4 different places where DVC guides are permanently stationed during daylight hours - the left hand wants to sell it!
But the right hand refuses to let them price it to sell.
They aren’t forcing anyone to finance…. as an executive why would you lower the price if you are OK with the pace of sales?Ugh. I will forever regret not buying more points during this sale. We had the mil incentive also which brought ours down to $156pp.
I quite literally recoiled when I saw the 10 year and 15 year finance terms on the docs. Just ...wow. Really disappointing that they went this route to presumably move some points rather than decent incentives this go around. Feels slimy.
