Horrified by resale agent treatment

OP, I think you want to check your link.

When I click on the letters at the front of your link, it takes me to www.dvcstore.com
I, personally, have had good experiences both buying and selling with this agency.

As far as I know, that is a completely different agency from www.dvcresalemarket.com
I, personally, have never used that agency.
I have used both dvcstore.com (to buy) and dvcresalemarket.com (to sell). Both experiences were very good, but I am sure a lot depends on your agent! I had a different agent.

No, another agent at the same company reached out to me without going through my agent.

That’s very common for DVCRM. The agent that receives the offer from the buyer will contact the seller. They don’t go through the seller’s agent like some other broker companies do.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. As far as I know DVCRM doesn’t have an exclusivity clause in their listing agreement. You should also list it with another broker if you have the risk appetite for that.

I double checked both agents have this in there signatures. It is the same company and I use them to rent my points all the time.

Huh. Didn't know that. That seems like a very odd way to do things. Especially discussing the topic of price. And what kinda of sounds like one agent throwing another agent (at the same company) under the bus.

There's why I posted it here. Sadly, others have now spoken our about the same person so this isn't a one off.

Extremely odd for another agent to contact you directly like that. Especially concerning the subject matter. Proper thing would be for him to contact your agent. Sort out anything that needs to be squared away internally first without involving the client. And if for any reason the client/you needs to be contacted, YOUR agent would be the one to reach out. Not some other random agent that works at the same company. Very odd way for him to approach the situation.

Any agent who take the call for a listing is the one who deals with the seller for that particular offer.

It is not always the listing agent. Almost all of the contracts I have sold were with someone at the agency that was not my agent. And I have sold with four different brokers over the years.

That’s so interesting! My listing agent told me my contract sold, so I assumed this worked differently!

It probably depends on the exact situation but anytime I had a contract with an offer that was not full offer, it was whomever took the call

The times when I sold for full asking, then the email came from the agent, but that only happened twice out of all the contracts I’ve sold…which I think is 10?

At least one of them was a former DVC guide or so he says. It was very late like almost 11:00 and he wouldn't stop even though I told him to please stop emailing me
Don’t reply?

I think it’s the link, not the text.

That guy was our agent for our first resale purchase. Definitely a strange character, bordering on unprofessional although he didn't do anything wrong per se. We went with this brokerage because we had a good experience with them a few years ago, but this guy has few loose screws. I personally would not choose him to conduct a sale.

I've had some off putting email conversations with Woody's underboot as well. In fact that whole company can come off rather aggressive/passive aggressive at times depending on the agent. Things like that make it easier to deal with the occasional incompetence from a Fidelity knowing they never give any lip or sass...I'd rather that any day.

I like a bit of a challenge. I love the agent who wants to educate us about the correct numbers to bid.

I agree with rather dealing with Fidelitys occasional incompetence... when I was putting my SSR offers, someone from Www.dvcresalemarket.com called me all arrogant telling me I would never get the price i wanted without it being a stripped contract which was not true.

Just put in the offer or don't, i don't need unsolicited, incorrect advice or fake hand holding from a broker.

Yep. For any potential buyers out there, pretty much ignore the average prices quoted on these various YT shows and what you can/can't offer. They haven't a clue. Check out the ROFR thread and other sources to see what deals actually fly.

Anyone who fancies a Boot's performance can enter DVC Andy into YT and check out the My DVC Points show. (Paul, he's going to be having words with you!). You'll need a strong stomach to make it thru the most recent episode. The guidance is questionable. I do fancy making an annoying bid so that I can be enrolled for re-education!
