Late spring 2025 incentives (April 29-July 14)

Everytime these pop up, I start wondering if I should get 150 direct at VDH instead of adding on (resale) at VGC.

Have there ever been better incentives for VDH? Or are they typically the same?

Also, question about Magical Beginnings - it says it's for the current use year. So....if you have a June UY, the points you would be "selling" back would be the 2024 points? Or if it's after June, it would be the 2025 points then?
For me it made sense, since I knew I wanted a blue card regardless. I am feeling really good today that compared to this round of incentives I paid $7400 less for my 300 points, so as with a lot of things waiting can ultimately end up costing you more (sometimes it can save you money too). Being able to pay fully for direct w/ credit cards also brought my overall cost down significantly so it made more sense to buy at VDH. If you aren't okay w/ studios then it might not be as good of a choice though.

Disclaimer for all reading: I do not condone financing DVC at 5, 10 or 15 years. If I was financing I wouldn't have purchased. My purchase was done with credit cards to earn cash back / points and I had cash to pay them off, which I did

Good work grabbing these. If you want to do one extra step if you download and attach the files to the post it would mean they would always remain on here for people to search and see old pricing.

@ClaraOswald this is an old VDH sheet. I got this plus $1000 off for having the Disney Visa.

Has anyone gotten the scoop on the SSR special offer? It's interesting that they are jumping on the SSR bandwagon.
If they do magical beginnings for SSR, doesn't that bring it down to 179 a point direct for 150 points? That's not as low as VGF was, but that is lower for direct. Was VGF's fire sale using magical beginnings?

Haven't followed the purchasing area that closely but I suspect Disney has been buying back some points cheap and they have a number of points to unload.

Looking in the ROFR thread I am seeing $85/point go through? That is very low pricing so thats my guess.

Yes, the fire sale for VGF was good if you bought 150 points or more and did MB.

I don't think they typically do magical beginnings for sold out resorts.

I think the spread for SSR vs resale is way too large to justify buying SSR direct. For VGF it wasnt nearly as big of a spread and made great sense to buy direct.

DVC does not seem worried about setting buyers up for success. 5 years was reasonable. 10 years was already near the limit of making sense. Starting at 10 and going to 15 years. Yikes. Just pay for cash rooms at that point. Probably end up spending much less while retaining much more flexibility.

Sure, the monthly payments look more digestible. How many will spread themselves too thin though? Foreclosure might not sound too bad for DVD, unless that starts heating up at a point when DVC direct and resale markets are over saturated. But what do I know  not much.
Getting rid of the 5 years is really unfortunate. Yes people can prepay, but it is very tempting to pay less when it's not required.

I know it's not Disney's problem for people to be responsible, but let's be real that DVC can be confusing and takes hours of research to master and it is advertised in a way to save people money.

Has anyone actually asked about it to a guide? They don’t advertise all the options. There’s a one year option (at least until recently) that you have to ask to get the details.

I had no idea there was a one year option that would be something I may be interested in in the future

And those direct benefits would expire in 2054 with the resort. When you will get at least 12 (or more) additional years if you buy at Poly or any of the restricted resorts direct. Direct SSR just isn't a good deal IMO
If only everyone was this savvy. I didn't think of that myself. I feel like this may be a popular option for some unfortunately for me

It’s a great way to add additional DL availability if you are OK with studios.

There are also some sweet spots on the seasonal point chart vs VGC if you have travel flexibility.

What you do is you put your DVC purchase on a Disney Visa. You can break up the purchase in 3 charges, spread out up to 90 days. Each charge gets 6 months same as cash financing with the Visa. So with this method you can get 9 months at 0% interest.

Other options if you are a credit card rewards hunter, DVC direct purchases code as travel...you may also be able to pay for a DVC purchase with Disney gift cards, and those can be bought at a discount easily.

Cash talks!

Unfortunately you cant pay for a DVC purchase with a gift card. But you can pay dues with them
